Jingjiang No.1 Middle School established the Local Culture Research Center, and Jingjiang No.1 Middle School was formally established, becoming the first specialized local culture research institution on campus.

According to the teacher of No.1 Middle School, the school distributed 150 questionnaires on Jingjiang local knowledge among junior high school students, and there were 15 questions about Jingjiang local knowledge that students should know. However, the results of the whole questionnaire survey are not optimistic, and the correct rate of some questions is even 0%. What were the nicknames of Jingjiang in ancient times? The correct answer should include Matuosha, Mazhou, Jijiang, Mucheng and Yinsha. Only two students answered this question correctly, and the correct rate was only 1.3%. On the other hand, the correct rate of investigating the names of towns and villages that no longer exist in Jingjiang is 0%. Although the correct rate of the question about which town Jingjiang Yuemiao is located is as high as 94%, nine students still answered Jishi Town, maqiao town or Hong Guang. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of teachers, and "Jingjiang people don't know about Jingjiang" should be changed quickly. More than 20 history, geography and Chinese teachers in the school formed a local culture research group. Through the research of local knowledge of more than 1,000 people, two school-based textbooks, Jingjiang Local Culture and Jingjiang Geographical Environment and Location Advantage, were compiled. The school library has set aside a special space and collected more than 1000 books about Jingjiang's human geography knowledge.

Li Xing, president of No.1 Middle School, said that in the future, the center will expand the scope of research, actively carry out local cultural information exchange and provide cultural consulting services; Compile historical records for local famous villages and towns, excavate, sort out, spread and popularize local excellent cultural heritage, prosper local culture and develop ninth-grade students.
