Mobil 1 engine lubricating oil is made of high-performance synthetic base oil. This includes polyalphaolefin (PAO) and other Mobil synthetic fluids, Mobil 1, SuperSyn TM formula. They have excellent low-temperature fluidity and thermal stability.

Mobil 1 fully synthetic engine oil is SM/SL/SJ/CF. Mobil Synthetic S 5W-40- Premium Grade
A synthetic engine lubricating oil with superior performance is prepared from the third kind of base oil and advanced additive system. Engine lubricants meet the latest industry standards and are suitable for the most demanding high-performance engines. The natural high VI of the third kind of basic raw materials makes the lubricating oil meet the specification requirements of SAE 5W-40 without adding VI improver.
Mobil Synt S 5W-40 meets the following specifications:
ACEA A3，B3 B4。 Apsl, SJ, EC, cf. BMW LL-98, Daimler Chrysler MB 229.3, Volkswagen 502 00/505 00. But it has also been recognized by Porsche.
If price is the main issue, Mobil Synt S 5W-40 can be considered to replace Mobil 1 5W-40.
