Six Sigma Consulting Summary The name of SIPOC diagram comes from five elements:
① Supplier: refers to the person or group that provides key information, materials or other resources for the process;
② Process input: refers to the information, materials and other resources provided to the process, that is, the things provided by the supplier;
③ Process: refers to a series of value-added activities that transform input into output;
④ Process output: refers to the final product or service produced by the process;
⑤ Customer: refers to individuals, groups or other processes that accept the output results of the process.
2. Advantages of 2.SIPOC diagram
Six Sigma Consulting found that SIPOC chart has the following advantages:
① A group of complex activities across functional departments can be displayed with a simple diagram and simple steps. No matter how complicated the process is and how many procedures there are, SIPOC diagram can clearly describe its main information in five steps.
No matter how big the organization is, SIPOC diagram can outline the whole business process with a clear framework.
Six Sigma Consulting believes that SIPOC diagrams can not only describe the overall process, but also describe each sub-process separately, and then connect each SIPOC diagram into an overall flow chart according to the process order. When drawing a SIPOC diagram, it should be noted that there may be many suppliers, inputs, processes, outputs and customers, but on the SIPOC diagram, only the most critical items are listed, not all.
3. Example of 3.SIPOC diagram
Legend of SIPOC: Suppose a company is a PCBA processing factory, whose main business is to receive orders from major electronic product manufacturers around the world, process semi-finished products of PCBA, and draw a SIPOC diagram of its manufacturing process.
① Determine the supplier: the company is a manufacturing company, and the supplier of electronic components in its manufacturing process is the supplier in SIPOC diagram;
(2) clear process input: the main input of this manufacturing process is electronic components;
③ Clarify the process itself: the main processes of PCBA processing are SMT patch, plug-in, welding, assembly, testing and packaging, that is, the process in this example has six boxes;
④ Clear the process output: in this case, the process output is PCBA component;
⑤ Identify customers: In this case, the customers are several electronic product manufacturers;
⑥ The suppliers, inputs, processes, outputs and customers of ⑥PCBA processing will be integrated.
