The printing and dyeing process of Tongxiang blue printed cloth inherits the ancient scraping block anti-dyeing printing process. The main technological process is as follows: first, design the required pattern, draw the pattern on a special paper tray, and carve it into a transparent pattern with a carving knife.
Secondly, the hollowed-out pattern is laid flat on the cloth to be dyed, and the dye-proof slurry of lime and soybean powder is scraped into the gap of the pattern with a scraper to make the slurry leak on the surface of the cloth.
Then, the cloth is dried with anti-dye slurry ash and put into an indigo vat for dyeing.
Finally, take the dyed cloth out of the dyeing vat, squeeze out the water to dry, scrape off the pulp ash after drying, and finish to get the product.
Printed cloth has developed from single-sided printing to double-sided printing, from monochrome to multi-color, from small cloth to wide cloth, from homespun to refined cotton, cotton-linen blend, silk and so on.
