What is the strangest allergen you have ever seen?

The strangest allergen I have ever seen is water allergy.

A patient told me that she has allergic reactions every time she touches water or wets her skin, including itchy skin, erythema and edema.

This bothers her daily life very much, because she can't take a bath, wash clothes or engage in other activities that touch water.

This allergic reaction is called hydrourticaria. Although rare, it does exist.

In this case, we often advise patients to avoid direct contact with water and take other cleaning and hygiene measures to relieve symptoms.
