English resumes are equally important to us job seekers, and there are some things that we should pay attention to when making resumes. The following are the notes and details of my English resume. Welcome to read for your reference!
Some points for attention in English resume:
1. Height, weight, political outlook, marital status, date of birth and registered permanent residence do not need to be put on your resume. Photos don't need to be displayed unless the employer indicates the need.
2. Don't write long paragraphs on your resume? Self-evaluation? . Every European and American university on the Internet has a resume template. Just apply directly. Form resumes are also rare in Europe and America.
Please write down the full names of awards and certificates won in China, and add your ranking.
If you just write? CET-6, score: 600? The employer doesn't know? CET? What is this? Write? College English Test-Band 6, with a score of 600? The employer doesn't know whether 600 marks are high or low, and whether Band 6 is the highest level. A better way is to write down your ranking. Similarly, many times? Model student? Or? XX cup chemistry competition? The interviewer can't figure out the gold content, but you can fully show it by adding the ranking? Are you great? The interviewer doesn't need to know this either? Model student? What is it?
Of course, if the awards and certificates obtained are related to the position or major you are applying for, or your resume is blank, you can explain the awards and certificates obtained in one sentence.
4. To avoid ambiguity, it is suggested to write the date in the format of 20 16 1 5th of the month or 20 1 6th of the year15th of the month. If it's all numbers, foreigners can't understand 16/0 1/05. 0 16 stands for 1 in some countries and 1 in some countries.
5. Please use English half-angle format for all punctuation. Remember the space after the comma. A period is usually not needed in a resume.
6. If you are still in school or have just worked for a few years, you'd better have a one-page resume.
7. It is best to save the file name as Zhang_CV.pdf or Zhang_Resume.docx, starting with the last name without spaces.
8. Please change the name of the email address to Pinyin. If the recipient is a foreigner, Chinese characters, non-mainstream words and name vacancies can easily make your email ignored.
9. Please write at least a few words in the email containing your resume, not directly? Hello, is this my resume? Or write nothing.
10. The names should be unified. If you use English name, please use English name in every step of application (recommendation letter, email signature, interview). In order to be consistent with the certificate, the name at the top of the resume can be Xiao Ming "Sam" Zhang or Xiao Ming (Sam) Zhang. Sam Zhang is used uniformly in other places.

The content of English resume is the same as that of Chinese resume. You should use verb phrases to write down what you have done and what substantial contribution you have made to the company or the student group, and list some data as much as possible. All verbs are in the past tense, and the first letter of each line is capitalized.

The above suggestions only apply to offices and schools where English is really needed. If an employer in China asks you for an English resume in order to see your English level, it is more appropriate to directly translate the Chinese resume word for word.
Some noteworthy details in English resumes:
? Using your school email (or work email) can make you look more professional. Avoid using private emails such as Hotmail, Yahoo, QQ and Gmail. Unless there is no better choice.
? Don't include your age or birthday.
? Try to use active verbs to describe your work experience, such as "organized", "researched" and "designed".
"Implemented". See the table below for more commonly used verbs. Pay attention to the correct tense. If you describe your present job, use the simple present tense and past tense.
? If you have work experience related to the position you are applying for, put it before your education information. Employers will be more interested in what you can do and what you have done, rather than what you have learned. The company will always train you after you join the company, so that you can master the skills needed for your job.
? Adding a space after punctuation marks is very important in English, which is different from Chinese. It is directly related to whether your resume is readable or not.
? There must be no typographical (or spelling) errors! Ask a friend to help you check line by line for typos.
? You'd better keep your resume within one page. There are often hundreds of applicants, and the recruitment department won't have that much time to read more than one page. However, academic resumes, such as doctoral students, do not have to follow this suggestion, because resumes need to list existing and published research.
? If you are in college or have graduated, don't include any information before college in your resume.
? Don't include your hobbies.
? If you are still a student, you can go to the school's employment center and ask those professionals to help you revise your resume.
