First, study.
The curriculum arrangement and study plan of e-commerce major in colleges and universities are different, so I will take my own experience as an example to briefly introduce it.
The main courses of freshmen are basic courses, such as advanced mathematics, linear algebra, computer foundation, C language, microeconomics and so on.
The task of freshmen is to be familiar with university life and adapt to the environment and learning rhythm. The course is relatively simple and there is not much study pressure.
At this time, students who have learned more solidly can participate in related subject competitions. If our school has a professional e-commerce competition, all the students in this major will participate.
Sophomore began to study specialized courses, so there are compulsory courses and specialized elective courses. This school year, because of different choices, everyone's courses are different.
Compulsory courses include operations research, e-commerce development technology, enterprise e-commerce management, decision analysis, electronic payment and network finance, electronic payment security management, electronic payment logistics management, etc. Elective courses of human resources, applied statistics, network economics, business consulting, brand management, object-oriented UML, Java and other majors are selected according to credits.
Sophomore courses are full, and math classes are more difficult. Most students will still participate in the e-commerce competition, and there will be an American mathematical modeling competition at the end of the fall semester.
Sophomore is also the most stressful and crucial year in four years.
I went out for an internship in my junior year.
Second, the employment direction.
After graduation, students can engage in the technology, operation and management of e-commerce in enterprises, institutions and government agencies, and also engage in teaching and scientific research in related majors in colleges and universities. That is to say, you can basically find a major corresponding to your course, such as marketing, electronic technology developer, foreign trade with good English, management foundation, maybe CEO, female secretary, customer service and so on.
Third, the direction of further study?
Students can continue to study for a master's degree in "Management Science and Engineering" or "Business Administration". How many years of work experience does an MBA, or MBA, need (I forget the specific years)? Whether the specific e-commerce major is good or not depends on the teachers in your school and the degree to which the school attaches importance to this major. The professional names of some schools seem good, but they are all newly opened majors, so the teaching staff is still relatively shallow and the teaching effect is not obvious. In fact, any major is a shell, and the process of learning is to cultivate people's ability and quality. Now enterprises attach importance to the quality of talents.
Moreover, whether the major is good or bad, the most important thing is whether you study or not. It's a good major, but it's still useless to come out if you can't meet the learning standards. No matter whether the employment rate is high or not, as long as you are the one who studies well, there is no reason for others not to want you. When applying for a job, you should look at your personal ability, not your major. Your personal ability is outstanding, so that the discerning person in the enterprise can recognize you at a glance. Finally, I wish you success in your studies!
Generally speaking, compared with other science and engineering majors, the courses of e-commerce major are relatively simple and the failure rate is extremely low. So as long as you follow the teacher closely and attend classes on time, you can get good grades and graduate smoothly.
