What should I do if the lathe guide rail is worn

The repair of machine tool guide rail wear can also be done by sticking plastic plates. At present, PTFE plates are usually used for grafting. The friction coefficient of PTFE is very low, only 0.02-0.04. It has excellent lubrication performance, convenient operation after machine maintenance, brisk operation, obviously reduced vibration and noise, and can prevent low-speed crawling. When there is no oil or little oil lubrication for a short time, the guide rail will not be bitten. In addition, PTFE is soft, and the metal will be embedded in PTFE when it enters the guide rail, so it will not scratch the guide rail. Because PTFE is difficult to bond, the surface value of easily bonded styrene-acrylic acid (product of pressure load and relative sliding speed) can be used. When the PV value exceeds the critical value, it will cause extreme wear due to heating. The following table lists the critical PV values of grafted PTFE. The simple understanding of the bonding process is as follows: (1) Finish planing the worn surface of the guide rail and clean it. (2) Scrape the pallet, accurately measure the compensation size and clean it. (3) Select the grafted PTFE sheet with appropriate PV value. The thickness of the plate shall be 0.05 mm smaller than the measured compensation size. According to the width and length of the lower guide rail of the frame, the plate slightly smaller than this size is cut. Sandpaper off the surrounding edges. (4) Hefei Bridge and Anhui Bridge adopt epoxy resin glue or polyurethane glue. The thickness of glue solution should be controlled at about 0.1mm. Apply the glue evenly on the bonding surface. (5) curing. The deviation between the center line of spindle taper hole and the center line of lathe tailstock hole and lathe bed slide plate is 0.06-0.01mm. Due to the wear of the tailstock slide, the center line of the tip sleeve is often lower than the center line of the spindle. The usual repair method is to repair and scrape the guide rail of the lathe bed, or to replace the bottom plate of the tailstock with a new one and add a pad on the bottom plate. These methods have large workload, long cycle and high cost.
