The story takes Wen Jian, the fallen Ming emperor, as the protagonist, and tells the story of Wen Jian's maritime adventure in search of the Buddha Island with the support of Tongque, the owner of the whale riding business group, Bai Di Qili, the young ninja, the Mongolian Man Zi Tiangou and Harold, a western scholar.
3D animation was produced by iQiyi, and the first season was launched on August 18.
