Introduction to traditional Chinese medicine: ascending, descending, floating and sinking, four kinds of traditional Chinese medicine improve viscera and qi.

Hello, everyone, I'm Lao Liu, an old Chinese doctor.

Perilla frutescens-rising and floating

Ascending, descending, floating and sinking refer to the different trends of drugs acting on human body. The ups and downs of drugs are mainly based on the efficacy of improving the imbalance of the ups and downs of zang-fu organs and qi and the shun and reverse of diseases.

Pointing upward, pointing upward, pointing downward, reversing downward, floating fingers are frivolous, diverging upward, sinking fingers are heavy, and making profits downward.

Generally speaking, all drugs that go up and down can go up and out. For example, drugs that have the effects of invigorating yang, publishing, dispelling cold and inducing vomiting are all ascending and floating. All drugs that subside can reduce energy, such as drugs that have the functions of clearing away heat, purging, diuresis, convergence, relieving asthma and relieving cough, are all subsided in nature.

Generally speaking, all drugs with pungent and warm taste belong to buoyancy-lifting drugs, such as ephedra, Cimicifuga rhizome and Astragalus membranaceus. All drugs with bitter taste, sour taste, salty taste and cold nature are mostly sedimentation drugs, such as rhubarb, mirabilite and hawthorn.

Light substances such as flowers and leaves are mostly floating drugs, such as perilla leaves and cicada skin; Seeds, fruits, minerals and heavy ones are mostly sedimentation drugs, such as perilla, immature bitter orange and oyster.

Plum subsidence

Ascending, descending, floating and sinking are not only four different medicinal properties, but also the principle of clinical medication.

Diseases are often on the rise (such as vomiting, hiccups and wheezing) and sinking (such as proctoptosis, enuresis and metrorrhagia). There are upper (red eye, swelling and pain), lower (ascites, urinary incontinence), exterior (exterior syndrome) and interior (constipation) diseases, so it is necessary to choose drugs according to the condition.

If the disease goes up, the decline is not as good as the rise, such as stomach qi going up and vomiting. When Jiang Banxia is used to reduce adverse reactions and stop vomiting, drugs such as Guadil should not be used.

If the disease is sinking, it is better to rise than to fall. For example, for long-term diarrhea and proctoptosis, Astragalus membranaceus, Codonopsis pilosula and Bupleurum chinense should be used to tonify qi and yang, but rhubarb and other laxatives should not be used. The disease is located in the table, so it should be published rather than collected. Because of exterior syndrome, you need to sweat to relieve exterior syndrome. Antiperspirant drugs such as perilla and ginger should be used instead of astringent drugs such as floating wheat. If the disease is in the stomach, it is advisable to use heat-clearing and diarrhea, warm the stomach and diuresis, and it is not advisable to use exterior-relieving drugs. If misused, it will aggravate the condition.

I'm Lao Liu, a Chinese medicine practitioner, and I'm committed to sharing Chinese medicine knowledge.
