Hami is a prefecture-level city in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, located in the east of Xinjiang, which is the main road leading to the inland of China. It has been the throat of the Silk Road since ancient times and is known as the "gateway to Xinjiang" and "gateway to China". It is adjacent to Jiuquan City, Gansu Province in the east, Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture in the south, Turpan City and Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture in the west.
