Why does everyone want to work in a big city?

1. Career and development:

Many majors can't find jobs in small cities after graduation, but big cities have a foothold. After reaching a certain level, such jobs in small cities are in short supply, and they are all done by very advanced people.

2. Future generations and future:

Give up and sacrifice your comfortable life in a small city for future generations. After all, the resources in big cities are really better.

3. Life and Vision:

Life in big cities is indeed more convenient, life is more colorful, and horizons and patterns will be enlarged (I will seriously and popularly explain what a person's patterns and horizons are, not those with X's).

4. Equity and environment:

Life choices in big cities are more, because they are more tolerant of all kinds of people and the overall environment is free and fair (relative).

5. Save money and price:

Big cities can save more money, because the income is really higher, and the cost of living except house prices is even lower in some ways.

6. Demand level:

Small cities are easier to meet people's survival and basic needs, but after solving the problems of survival and food and clothing, human beings will definitely have spiritual needs, and this higher demand is easier to meet in big cities.

One explanation is:

1. Career and development: Many majors have no suitable jobs in small cities after graduation, but big cities have a foothold. To a certain extent, the supply of such jobs in small cities is insufficient, and all of them are occupied by very experienced people.

For example, algorithm engineer in the Internet industry.

For example, consulting industry, financial industry management consultants.

Investment bank analysts, or management positions in the headquarters of large companies, management trainees.

These jobs are not available or extremely scarce in small cities. Although they just graduated with a monthly salary of five or six thousand yuan (which may be higher or lower depending on the industry), their subsequent development may be very good.

In small cities, these people have no such career development at all, and the best choice is to enter the system.

To be a civil servant, so Zhihu.

It is politically correct to go up within the system.

.

But the classmates and friends I met in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen (why there is no North, so I won't explain) are all three types of people who have gone into the system: the rich second generation and the official second generation. They don't ask for any development on their own. Anyway, they have mines at home, find a stable place to mix, and even use the resources of the previous generation to integrate. 2. In order to register an account (no explanation) 3. Non-first-class talents can't find a better enterprise, so first take an examination of a civil servant to ensure a bottom.

The truly outstanding talents around us and those who have no background and no mines at home are basically from within the system, and they have all gone to management positions in investment banks, consulting, the Internet or the headquarters of the top 500 companies.

And these people, if they return to small cities, have no suitable jobs at all. And even if you give up your well-paid job and go back to your hometown to be a civil servant, it's really not what you want to do. First of all, once people are old, it is difficult to take the exam. Secondly, you want to be a civil servant in a small city, but you have no connections and background at home, so it is difficult for you to get along well in it. Then you will recall some of your values. Working in a big city may take years or even longer to get your mind right.

I have written a long article explaining the inside and outside of the system in detail before. Interested ones can be sent through the portal. I won't copy it here ~

2. Future generations and future: Give up and sacrifice your comfortable life in a small city for future generations. After all, the resources in big cities are really better.

Many parents are actually great sacrifices. I have two such subordinates, who can live comfortably in a small city, but I stayed for the sake of the next generation. I asked them, is the fierce competition in big cities worth it?

They made it very clear: generally speaking, big cities have good educational resources, and they don't want their children to be like themselves.

I said: not necessarily. If children are in small cities, the educational resources are not as good as those in big cities, but the competition is also small. In a big city, the competition your children face is many elite children.

Answer: Boss, what you said seems very logical, but it is not. The educational resources in small cities are even more unfair, and the admission rate of senior high school entrance examination is different. My husband and I have studied comprehensive competitions and educational resources. Generally speaking, although the competition in big cities is fierce, the municipal governments in small cities have done a good job in education equity and have an advantage in admission rate. And many things are not only based on competitive comparison, but also on absolute education level. From these perspectives, education in big cities still has advantages as a whole. And not only educational resources, but also medical care, social security, public transportation and urban infrastructure will be better. These things are absolutely unimportant when you are young, but after you have children, these resources will be very important after you are 35 years old.

I said, well, it's not easy for everyone. I'll give you a raise.

3. Life and horizon: Life in a big city is really convenient and colorful, which can greatly broaden people's horizons and patterns.

This is actually quite obvious. Life is really convenient. Convenience stores are everywhere with complete infrastructure. There are basically many large-scale concerts and exhibitions. What I want to say here is that big cities have indeed brought vision and pattern.

Many people will ask, what is the vision and pattern? Do you know where all the bar doors in big cities are? Do you know the rules of nightclubs in big cities? Do you know the grape varieties and brands of red wine? Do you know several luxury brands? Speaking a few foreign languages is called vision and pattern?

My answer is: of course not, those things are not called horizons and patterns, those things are called X.

One of my students asked me before: teacher, vision and pattern of space. Can you tell me what vision and pattern are?
