The underground Great Wall of Shuolong in Bianguan, also known as "78 12 underground artillery fortification", is located in Shuolong Town, a border defense town between China and Vietnam, with a distance of 100 meters from the central square of Shuolong Street in this town and only across a wide Guichun River from Vietnam.
This is an underground military defense project built in the 1970s when Sino-Vietnamese relations were tense. This fortification was buried several meters below the Rocky Mountain in Shuolong Town, and connected with houses, peaks, boundary rivers and other panlong, which lasted for several years. All kinds of wartime facilities in the tunnel are complete, with functions and facilities such as observation and monitoring, observation and communication, command and dispatch, sentry, weapons and ammunition depot, military material supply, wartime underground hospital and so on.
Thousands of migrant workers were used to dig tunnels and caves, which lasted for several years and were all made of reinforced concrete. These tunnels are criss-crossed, hidden several meters underground around Shuolong Street, and connected with surrounding peaks, mud ridges, boundary rivers and houses. The design is scientific, the layout is reasonable, the structure is hidden, the project is grand, and it has the functions of air defense, gun prevention and battle avoidance. The underground Great Wall of Shuolong, which entered the frontier exploration, reappeared the military life of the strong men guarding the frontier in those days by setting up strong bunkers and entering the reinforced concrete pouring tunnel.
