Introduction by the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

The Chief Secretary for Administration (CS) 1 is a government official of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, ranking second only to the Chief Executive, and its supporting department is the Chief Secretary for Administration's Office. The Chief Secretary for Administration is an official member of the Executive Council and the highest official among the three Secretaries who can act as the Chief Executive. When the Chief Secretary for Administration is on leave, he will be represented by one of the directors with the longest service at that time (usually Sun Mingyang before July 20 12). The current Chief Secretary for Administration is Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor.
