Baimasi Mountain Forest Park is located in the urban area 4 kilometers north of Jincheng City, with an area of 1 1,000 mu and a forest coverage rate of over 80%. Not only the natural scenery is picturesque, but also the human landscape is profound. The main attractions are White Horse Temple, White Horse Temple, Gongjingta, Stone Buddha, Black Dragon Pool and tourist slides. The Baima Temple in the scenic spot contains 6 jade buddhas donated by Burmese monks and 3,000 copies of the Tripitaka donated by the Taiwan Buddhist Foundation. Zhao Puchu, former vice chairman of China People's Political Consultative Conference, sealed the temple. White Zen Temple is located on Baima Temple Mountain, also known as Sima Mountain. According to legend, Wei Sima Yi was named after Feng Changping who climbed this mountain. A temple was built behind the mountain, which was renamed Baima Temple Mountain. The total area is about 10 square kilometer, and the elevation of the main peak is10/0 meter. There are dense forests, bushes, birds and flowers and fresh air on the mountain. Looking down from the mountain, Jincheng City has an unobstructed view, which is pleasing to the eye.
Baima Temple: Located at the top of Baima Temple, it is said that Tang Priest learned Buddhist scriptures in the West, and on his way back, he learned Buddhist scriptures and fell into the water. The Tang Priest once dried them on this mountain and built a temple. There is a beautiful legend about "White Horse" and "White Horse Pulling the rein". The White Horse Temple was built in an unknown age, but it has been completely destroyed. There is only one "Gong Jing Pagoda" on the original site, which stands tall and shows people her past glory.
White horse pulls the reins: there is an egg-shaped stone on the mountain of Mazhe Temple, which is hard and hollow, vibrating and noisy, hence the name Maling Stone. According to legend, there was a witty and kind young man in ancient times. He firewood for the rich man every day, rain or shine. Nevertheless, they are often beaten by rich people because there is no firewood. One day, when he came back from firewood, an old man in Lu Yu asked him for firewood to keep warm. Seeing that the old man was cold, he generously gave the old man firewood regardless of the danger of being beaten less. The old man took out a paper horse from his arms and gave it to the teenager. He told him that it was a horse, a little white dragon, that Tang Priest rode when he learned the scriptures. What you want, you just need to find a thousand-year-old cereal grass to eat for him, and it will appear immediately. When the teenager came home, the wind suddenly blew hard and it snowed all night. The next day, the rich man ignored the snow and threatened the teenagers to go into the mountains to get firewood. The teenager remembered the paper horse hidden in his arms, but where can he find the Millennium cereal grass? Suddenly, he thought of a thousand-year-old Buddha statue in the White Horse Temple on the mountain being destroyed. He clearly remembers that the skeleton of the Buddha statue is made of straw. So he immediately went to the temple and took out a straw from the Buddha statue. The paper horse in her arms swallowed it with her mouth open, shook her head and tail, and suddenly turned into a white horse, and went into the mountains to transport charcoal for the teenagers. When the rich man learned about it, he wanted to keep it for himself, so he conspired with his family to steal the horse in the middle of the night and was kicked to the ground by the white horse. The teenager woke up from his sleep, jumped on his horse and flew away with his white horse. The bell was torn off by the rich man and scattered all over the floor. It has become a bell stone, a mountain ridge dragged by the reins of a white horse, and it is still barren. This is the origin of marble, and it is also the story of "White Horse Pulling the rein", one of the four famous scenic spots in Jincheng.
Shifoling: On the cliff about 1 km behind Baimasi Mountain, there is a group of Mo Yan statues, which were called Shifoling in ancient times. According to historical records, there are more than 500 original statues. Legend has it that a monk counted the number of Buddha statues more than ten times, and each time it was different. As a last resort, he spent three days labeling each statue with a number, and finally finished counting it. Due to various reasons, the statue of Shifoling has been greatly damaged. Now there are only more than 30 niches and more than 90 statues, most of which are from the Northern Qi Dynasty. There are several statues of Tang Ningyuan, and several statues that seem to be relics of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, which are very precious.
Xiaoxi Mountain: In the shadow of Baima Temple Mountain, it is also called Xishan. Zezhou, one of the eight ancient scenic spots, is the location of "Xi Shuang Shan Qi". There used to be a Tang Emperor Temple, where the ancients prayed for rain. "During the period of Yuan Qing (1312-13), the Tang Temple was built in the world, but Zezhou is mountainous and prone to drought, and it is unique in the temple." There are three old Jiarun pools outside the soup, and there is a trickle in the "Niangniang Pool". Now the Tang Emperor Temple has been destroyed, but the scenery here is unique, fresh and refreshing. With a little development, it can become another tourist attraction of Baimasi Forest Park.
Black Dragon Pool: Located at the foot of the mountain in the northwest of Baima Temple and northeast of Niu Shan Village, Shangzhuang Office in the west of the city. It is the location of "Night Rain in Longtan", one of the eight ancient scenic spots in Zezhou. This place is elegant and quiet, and the "pool" is made of neat large sandstone strips and is octagonal. There are several ancient inscriptions on the rocks beside the pool, such as "Gulongquan", "Longtan Torrential Rain", "Longyu" and "Eight Scenes". According to legend, the Black Dragon King here married the daughter-in-law of Niu Shan Village, so the elders said that people in Niu Shan should be called Uncle Dragon King here. According to legend, an "official Zhu" surnamed Zhu in Zezhou in the old days made it a rule to sing opera here in order to thank the Black Dragon King. The old Black Dragon Temple in Black Dragon Pool has been destroyed. In recent years, villagers raised funds to rebuild a small temple on the old site. With the development of 100 mu rose garden in Niu Shan Village, Black Dragon Pool will become a unique and beautiful scenery in the forest park.
Pulley: Zhang Cun in Beishidian Town, adjacent to Baima Temple, has built a pulley path on the cliff at the east foot of the temple in recent years, which not only greatly facilitates tourists, but also adds new attractions to Baima Temple Forest Park.
Shilonghui: Abbot of Baima Temple. Born in Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province, he suffered a lot in his early years. He began to participate in Buddhism at the age of 23 and was a layman at first. He studied under Hui Yuan, the master of Xiaonanhai Temple in Shaanxi, and became a monk at the age of 26. 1June, 975 to 10/October, I went to Jixiang Temple in Qingliangqiao, Wutai Mountain, and worshipped Master Nenghai. From then on, I quit here and started my poor Buddhist career until the Cultural Revolution. During the Cultural Revolution, he and other monks were expelled from the temple and sent to the nearby countryside for reconstruction. The policy is implemented in 1975, and we can return to Xiantong Temple in Wutai Mountain. Master Long Hui withstood pressure from many sides, overcame difficulties layer by layer, spread classics and taught his disciples widely, and made great contributions to the re-development and prosperity of Wutai Mountain. 1983 abbot of Tayuan Temple. 1984 Ren Shancai Cave Abbot. In the meantime, he also traveled many times to preach Buddhism. From 65438 to 0989, Master Long Hui was specially appointed as the president of Jincheng Religious Association (now the president of Jincheng Buddhist Association) by Jincheng Religious Affairs Bureau, and initiated the overall construction of Baima Temple.
At present, there are hundreds or even thousands of monks and nuns here. Master Longhui has devoted endless energy and painstaking efforts to the development of Buddhism in Jincheng, and will surely go down in the annals of Jincheng forever.
