What is even more ridiculous is that some materialists think that animals have no real consciousness. This is a very absurd fallacy. We also know that animals and people have many similarities in thinking, choice and discrimination, so that view is simply untenable.
Moreover, idealism is not close to the only Sect, and Buddhists should never consider themselves idealists. After all, neither objective idealism nor subjective idealism recognizes the emptiness of the knower's choice, nor does it recognize the practice of six degrees and ten thousand lines, and finally obtains the fruit of complete equality of consciousness. They don't admit that good is rewarded with good, evil with evil and the existence of past and future generations are meaningless in idealism.
In fact, Buddhist philosophy should cover materialism and idealism. Because idealism is only a sensory study of temporary phenomena, this theory can be incorporated into Buddhist theory; Materialism only explores the phenomenon and essence of matter and produces natural scientific achievements, which can also be completely covered in Buddhism. In this way, we can say that Buddhism covers materialism and idealism, but materialism and idealism cannot cover Buddhism.
Some people think that all philosophy cannot transcend materialism and idealism. This is a one-sided statement. We have learned their contents more or less before. When I was in normal school, a teacher who talked about Marxist dialectical materialism quarreled with me every day. Especially when he mentioned "Buddhism is superstition", a group of us began to argue with him. At that time, we didn't know the cause and the middle view. If we really argue, we may not be able to argue in some places, but with our wisdom and understanding of good and evil, we can confront him for the time being. Every time he said that Buddhism was superstitious, we immediately raised our hands and argued with him. Later, he dared not say anything in detail in class. Once, he said to my class teacher, "This man has a brain problem, and it will definitely bring disaster to the country and the people in the future. Be sure to pay attention! "
Many people have studied Marx's dialectical materialism, and Marx mentioned that "religion is opium" in Das Kapital and other works, so many people, including professors in colleges and universities, think that what Marx refutes is Buddhism. But this statement is unreasonable. Why? Because Marx's ideological source is mainly a book by Feuerbach, which severely criticizes western Christianity, but it is not aimed at Buddhism, and Marx's criticism of Buddhism is not at all.
At present, very few people know nothing about materialism and idealism, but they keep saying that Buddhism is idealism and superstition. Even some teachers use blind guidance in the process of teaching students, which has some adverse effects. Therefore, whether you are a monk or a family member, you should carefully observe your knowledge and education with wisdom. Otherwise, you will only hear "idealism" and "epistemology" without thinking, and you will begin to assert that materialism is correct and there is no difference between before and after, which will bring endless harm to your life and the next life. Therefore, when we only talk about knowledge, besides Buddhism, we should also have a little understanding of idealism.
