Hubei Institute of Science and Technology is an ordinary undergraduate college in Hubei Province, an "excellent" university evaluated by the Ministry of Education, a national 100 demonstration universities integrating production and education, the first batch of pilot universities for excellent doctoral education and training programs in China, and a pilot university for transformation and development in Hubei Province. At present, the school has 1 national "comprehensive professional reform pilot" (pharmacy), 3 national specialty construction sites (pharmacy, biomedical engineering and geographical science), 6 provincial "comprehensive professional reform pilot" (electrical engineering and automation, biomedical engineering, geographical science, nuclear engineering and nuclear technology, clinical medicine and primary education) and 8 provincial strategic emerging industries.
The school is based, integrated and serves the local area, relying on China Han folk narrative Long song Research Center, China Guyao Culture Research Base, Hubei School-Enterprise Motor and Control System R&D Center, Hubei Fragrant Flower Plant Engineering Technology Research Center, Hubei Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Center, Hubei Xianning Intelligent Electromechanical Industry Technology Research Institute, Xianning Research Institute, Xianning General Practice Training Center, Xianning Marxism Popularization Research Base, Xianning Osmanthus Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, and southeastern Hubei School. The school has 1 academician workstations, 2 provincial graduate workstations, 1 provincial campus science and technology business incubator, more than 50 Industry-University-Research cooperation bases and 3 national examination centers.
