According to the information of Xiamen Music School, Xiamen Music School is a characteristic school of nine-year compulsory education and a secondary music professional school founded by Xiamen Municipal People's Government 1990. The school was named the Music School affiliated to Xiamen University in April 2009. The specialized school is a secondary vocational school instead of an ordinary high school.
