After the car has reached a certain service life, most parts of each system have completed their mission, and maintenance can no longer guarantee the safe driving of the car, so it should be scrapped and updated in time. A civil car registered in China shall be scrapped under any of the following circumstances:
1. Light trucks (including off-road vehicles) and special vehicles for mining operations travel 300,000 kilometers; Heavy and medium trucks (including off-road vehicles) have traveled a total of 400,000 kilometers; Extra-large, large, medium, light and mini buses (including off-road vehicles) and cars have traveled a total of 600,000 kilometers; Other vehicles have traveled a total of 450,000 kilometers;
2. Light and mini trucks (including off-road vehicles), trucks with trailers, special vehicles for mining operations and all kinds of taxis, and the service life of other vehicles 10 year;
3. Due to various reasons, the vehicle is seriously damaged or the technical condition is poor and cannot be repaired;
4. The model is eliminated, and there is no source of accessories;
5. After the automobile is used for a long time, the fuel consumption exceeds 50% of the value specified in the national standard;
6. After repair and adjustment, it still does not meet the technical requirements of national motor vehicle operation safety;
7. After repair, adjustment or adoption of exhaust pollution control technology, the pollutants discharged still exceed the national automobile emission standards.
With the exception of taxis and light and minivans (including off-road vehicles) with seats below 19, passenger and freight vehicles that have reached the above service life can be postponed for retirement if their performance meets the requirements after strict inspection by the public security vehicle management department in accordance with the relevant provisions of the state on motor vehicle safety emission, but the extension period shall not exceed half of the service life specified in Article 2 of this standard.
All vehicles that have been used for an extended period of time need to be inspected more frequently according to the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security, and those that do not meet the relevant national regulations on automobile safety emission should be forcibly scrapped.
