This two-story apartment is located near Mainz, Germany. It was built in the 1950s and was formerly a furniture store. A few years ago, a local architect bought the shop and transformed it into two double-decker apartments and an office area. We are responsible for the interior decoration of one of the apartments. The shopkeeper is a young couple. They have some old furniture. However, these furniture are cold and monotonous, which does not conform to the style of the apartment. The couple hope that the new home can create a warm feeling and have its own characteristics. According to the owner's requirements, we use huge hanging curtains to separate the living room from the dining room, bringing a more comfortable living experience. Large curtains can also block the outside view and help protect privacy. At the same time, wooden furniture and decorative pieces are also used, such as dining table, sideboard, sofa bed on the first floor, red seats and so on. In addition, we are also responsible for selecting artistic decorations and even suggesting to the owners how to place suitable green plants indoors. A feature of the apartment is the combination of old furniture and new elements, such as the beautiful pink TV cabinet in the living room and the beautiful lights in the corridor of the studio.
