Xicheng high-speed railway consists of Xi 'an-Jiangyou section of Sichuan and Chengdu-Mianle intercity railway, with a total length of 660 kilometers, 343 kilometers in Shaanxi and 3 17 kilometers in Sichuan. The total investment of the project is estimated to be about 68.8 billion yuan. Xicheng high-speed railway is built according to the national first-class double-track railway, with a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. Its function is mainly passenger transport, undertaking long-distance passenger flow between North China, Shaanxi and Southwest China, and taking into account some intercity passenger flows along the route. Starting from xi 'an, crossing the Qinling Mountains, passing through Hanzhong, Shaanxi, crossing Micang Mountain, entering Sichuan, connecting with Mianchengle Passenger Dedicated Line, passing Guangyuan to Jiangyou, Sichuan, and directly reaching Chengdu, greatly shortening the straight-line distance between Xi 'an and Chengdu, two central cities in northwest and southwest. After the line is opened to traffic, it takes only 1 hour from Xi 'an to Hanzhong and only 3 hours to Chengdu.
The proposed Xi 'an-Chengdu high-speed railway connects Zhengzhou-Xi 'an Passenger Dedicated Line Xi 'an North Station in the north, passes through Hanzhong and Guangyuan in the south, and reaches Jiangyou to connect with the Chengdu-Mianyang-Leshan Intercity Railway, which is about to start construction. Large and medium-sized bridges and tunnels along the line account for 80% of the total length of the line. The construction of this line will help to improve the railway network construction in the western region. The line connects Zhengzhou-Xi Passenger Dedicated Line under construction in the north and the planned Cheng Kun-Chengdu Railway in the south, strengthening the connection between Guanzhong, Southwest China and surrounding areas, and shortening the transportation time from Chengdu to Beijing to less than 8 hours.
