Being the Designer of One's Life (Ⅱ) —— On the Career Planning of Middle School Students

-A preliminary study on the career planning of middle school students

"Career planning" is actually "life planning", which is the process of determining the development direction of life, making development plans and managing one's own behavior in order to achieve the established life goals. To complete career planning, we must first know ourselves and ourselves. "bosom friend" is the process of knowing yourself, exploring and understanding your strengths and limitations, and understanding your potential; Secondly, "knowing yourself" means studying life and society, exploring the truth of the professional world, especially understanding the requirements of a profession and the way to enter a profession, and making choices about the development direction or career goals of one's life on the basis of fully understanding oneself and society; Finally, determine the action plan to achieve the goal, and manage this goal to solve all possible difficulties.

We say that a planned life is a good life. We should help our children plan a better life as soon as possible, which requires us as parents to first understand several major development stages and relative ages of life: the growth stage, that is, 0 to 14 years old, which is equivalent to childhood; Exploration period, 15 to 24 years old, equivalent to adolescence; Establishment period, 25 to 44 years old, equivalent to adulthood; Maintenance period, from 45 to 65 years old, is equivalent to middle age and aging period, that is, after 65 years old, it is equivalent to old age. Are parents aware of their children's life stages? Do you know the child's personality? What does the child want? What kind of people do we expect our children to be? What can we do to achieve our children?

Career planning means that children should not only consider what they do in different periods, but also consider the relationship between what they want to do and their hobbies, values, personality traits, ability tendencies and social needs, and find a fit between "what I want to do", "what I want to do" and "what I can do". It is precisely because many people have found the perfect fit of the three that they have made the right life choices, thus creating their own glory!

Once a student with good grades asked me, "If college students can't find a job after graduation, what will I do in college?" I don't know how to answer the students' questions at the moment. Later, I read the book "Design of Childhood Life" by American Chinese teacher Ding. It is mentioned in the book that American children plan their careers from the age of six, and their professional consciousness permeates them. Children prepare knowledge, skills and comprehensive qualities for their career goals at an early age.

I especially hope that through our efforts, our children, whether junior high school students or senior high school students, can proudly say, "I am ready for my work 10 years ahead of others!" "So, in the later days, they will take fewer detours.

The study of career planning is different from the study of cultural subjects. Learning a cultural course can often see the effect in a short time, and the efforts made by children are likely to be seen in the next exam. Career planning, on the other hand, can't, and its effect may have to wait for several years before children can see it after they work. With the awareness of career planning, after hard practice, you will find that when other children don't know how to fill in their volunteers and what major to choose in the college entrance examination, when many college graduates can't find jobs, or when they find jobs but don't like their jobs ... you will find that none of these problem children will. Because we have planned for a long time, children are choosing their own path step by step according to scientific planning. What is planning? I think a simple understanding should be to let students know what kind of person I want to be. What knowledge do you need to learn, what do you need to do and what qualities do you need to have to be such a person.

Our children know to choose their major according to their career goals, to exercise their professional competitiveness in practice, and to know that they like and are good at what they do. More importantly, from now on, they will know how to prepare for their professional knowledge, skills and comprehensive quality step by step!

We all have this experience: we are going to travel, and we will consider, how much money do I have? How much time do I have? Where are you likely to go? Free travel or group tour? What means of transportation do you choose? What's the local climate like? ..... Many times, every trip we take will be carefully planned, but if life is a trip, how many of us have set off on this important trip without any plan? Life is a journey and career planning is an important part of the whole journey! We should help children have a full understanding and thinking about themselves, their life and their future career development, and make reasonable and scientific plans for their future according to these understandings and put them into action, and really take the time to complete this important life lesson!

Career planning is not a single concept, it is closely related to the family and society where individuals live. It is a matter of time before you choose a career, whether you are a junior high school student or a senior high school student who is about to graduate or not. Those hopeless students are faced with a major choice in life: what kind of career to choose to enter the society? So choosing a career is choosing a life. Especially in the social background of diversified values, the significance of career planning lies in finding a career suitable for one's own development needs, realizing the matching between individuals and occupations, and maximizing personal value, so as to determine the direction of life, provide accurate positioning goals and strategies, accurately evaluate personal characteristics and advantages according to different career characteristics, carefully analyze the gap between personal goals and reality, find the correct career direction, seize career opportunities, and enhance professional competitiveness. At the same time, according to different professional requirements, we should remold our self-image, understand our own values and ultimately promote their appreciation, so as to achieve a win-win situation for our personal interests, abilities, values, career, employment units and families.

What kind of children need career planning? We say that all children need career planning!

Children with good grades need it. They need to know what they want to do in the future, how to link their hard-working knowledge with their future careers, and what comprehensive qualities they want to pursue besides book knowledge. At the same time, career planning can also help them choose the right major when they graduate from high school and choose the right career after graduating from college.

Children with temporarily unsatisfactory grades need it more. In the process of career planning, they can explore their other potentials besides book learning ability, discover their interests and specialties, and link their interests and specialties with their future work, so as to cultivate themselves into experts in a certain field and gain stable employment competitiveness in the future job market.

When is the career planning suitable for middle school students? I think it is necessary to start career planning in junior high school. When students reach the junior high school stage, their self-awareness is gradually enhanced, and they begin to have their own thinking ability and independent exploration ability. We can guide them to do something that will help their future career development.

Some parents said, consider career planning after senior three. To tell the truth, it's a little late for senior three. Because career planning is a process of continuous exploration and circular development, it is impossible for children to define their career goals at once. Parents and children need to do a lot of career exploration and feel whether it is suitable for children in the process of exploration. If it is not suitable, you can further adjust and explore, and so on, until you find a career goal that suits you. Senior three exams are stressful, so it is impossible to have enough time to collect a lot of information about career planning, so it may affect the final decision.

For most people, work is a great experience in life. If a person's life span is 75 years old, his career will occupy more than half of his life from the time he starts working at the age of 20 to his retirement at the age of 60. If career is an unavoidable choice, then career planning is a beacon to guide you to make the right choice! Because the more important thing in life is not whether to choose, but how to choose, or more accurately, how to make the right choice.

Ryan gilson of the United States said in Choosing the Right Pond to Catch Big Fish: "Whether you are a middle school student, a college student, a master or a doctor, career planning should be the first and last course."

? May you become the best designer in your life!
