Huangtatao Expressway refers to Huangshan-Taling Expressway and Xiaohe-Taolin Expressway, which are located at the junction of Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces. It starts from Huangshan City and reaches Xiaohe Interchange Hub, which is divided into two herringbone lines, leading to Zhejiang and Jiangxi respectively. It is an important part of Beijing-Taiwan Expressway and Hangrui Expressway. It is connected to expressway, Huang Tong in the north, to expressway, Quzhou, and to expressway, Wuyuan in the south, to the completed Huihang expressway in the east, and to the proposed Huangshan to expressway, Jingdezhen in the west. The total length of the route is 50 kilometers, and the Yellow Tower covers expressway and was opened to traffic on June 26th, 2008.
The completion and opening to traffic of Huangtatao expressway has opened the link between Beijing, Anhui Province and expressway, Taipei, and unblocked the high-speed connecting line in the Pan-Yangtze River Delta region, which has played a positive role in promoting Anhui Province's participation in the Pan-Yangtze River Delta regional division of labor and cooperation.
As a typical demonstration project of the Ministry of Transport, Huangta Tao expressway has adopted a series of innovative methods and means in its design and construction based on the concepts of "respecting the natural and human environment" and "giving priority to environmental protection", adopting curved natural slopes on a large scale for the first time in the province, and successfully realizing the "zero excavation" tunnel construction method for the whole line for the first time in China, with the route avoiding ancient villages and ancestral halls and protecting Anhui to the maximum extent.
