Why do Putian people worship Tian Gong Marshal?

Putian people worship Tian Gong Marshal.

Marshal Tiangong, also known as Marshal Tiandu and Master Xianggong, has faith not only in Fujian, especially in Putian and southern Fujian, but also among overseas Chinese in Taiwan Province, Hongkong, Macau, Singapore and Malaysia. Most local operas in Fujian worship Marshal Tiangong as the drama god, calling him "xianggong". At the same time, Marshal Tiangong is also the ancestor of the folk art array Song Jiangzhen, so it is also called "Song Jiangye". Marshal Tiangong is widely rumored by the people as a fairy who can eliminate disasters, help health and eliminate evil spirits. She people also regard Marshal Tiangong as their national god.

At present, there are still different opinions about the origin of Tian Gong Marshal. Generally speaking, there are three kinds:

According to legend, Lei Haiqing, a musician in Tianbao period of Tang Dynasty, was in charge of the disciples of Gongliyuan when Xuanzong was in charge. After his death, he was chased as a minister of Taichang Temple, and later regarded as a patron saint by the children of Liyuan, becoming the god of folk music.

It is said that he was the governor of Xuanzong era, Lei, who was named Grand Marshal because of his repeated meritorious military service (some people said that Lei was his younger brother).

There is also a saying that Field Marshal is a court musician of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, that is, the three brothers of Field Marshal of the Academy. These three brothers are good at singing and dancing, and can drive away evil spirits, so they are also called "Marshal Tammy" among the people. However, what is more accepted by the public is the first statement. Marshal Tying is the musician Lei Haiqing in Tang Tianbao.

There are also different opinions about the origin of the heavenly marshal. The first view is mythical. Marshal Tiangong is the third prince of the Jade Emperor. Because he loved human drama and was good at music, singing and dancing, the Jade Emperor allowed him to return to heaven after work. Many palaces and temples dedicated to Marshal Tiangong record that it originated from the "Bridge Head of Iron Plate in Hangzhou".

It is generally believed that Marshal Tiangong is from Kengkou, Luodong Town, Nan 'an, Fujian. It is reported that Su Shi, the biological mother of Marshal Tiangong, is a rich woman. Su Shi once ate milk from the suburban "Spring Society" and got pregnant unexpectedly. Her family thought it was ominous and abandoned it in the wild.

It was adopted by Lei 'agong Opera Troupe of She Nationality in Kengkou Village. Three generations of the troupe formed their own family club, often living in Putian, southern Fujian and other places, known as the "Leijiaban". It is reported that a hairy crab spat at the baby's mouth and let him suck. It should be noted that during the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, the Su family moved from Hangzhou to Fujian to avoid the war.
