Located in the center of Xining, Qinghai Province, the Qinghai Provincial Museum was originally the residence of warlord Ma Bufang, named Xinlu, covering an area of about 30,000 square meters. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Qinghai Province. The cultural relics in this museum include ancient stone tools, bone implements, pottery, bronzes, bronze seals, Persian silver coins and Buddhist scriptures in China.
There are four special exhibitions: Prehistoric Civilization Exhibition in Qinghai, National Cultural Relics Exhibition in Qinghai, Tibetan Buddhism Art Exhibition in Qinghai and Lovely Qinghai, which are basically arranged in chronological order, reflecting the general development of Qinghai in different historical periods in the form of physical objects, and have their own systems and characteristics. For example, the exhibition "Lovely Qinghai" focuses on pictures, supplemented by sand table models, animal and mineral specimens and advanced sound, light and electricity means, showing the beautiful natural scenery and rich natural resources such as mineral deposits, hydropower, oil and natural gas in Qinghai, especially the brilliant achievements in industry, agriculture and animal husbandry after the reform and opening up.
