"If you can't do it, get out of here." It's uncomfortable to be criticized by leaders in public. How to deal with it?

First of all, show sincerity and listening attitude.

The boss's criticism may be misunderstood by employees, so don't rush to explain and clarify at this time, especially in meetings and public places.

On these two occasions, the boss pays special attention to his own face, and the employee's explanation can easily be regarded as a manifestation of "disobedience and refutation of management". Right or wrong is not important at this time, because the incident has risen to the authoritative image of the boss, so be cautious.

The boss criticizes employees, mostly with emotions, even if the surface is calm, there is some anger inside. As long as the emotions are still there, it is difficult for us to communicate effectively. Forcing an explanation will only aggravate the anger of the leaders.

Therefore, we should show a sincere attitude of admitting mistakes, listen carefully to the criticism of leaders, and don't dwell on right and wrong. It will be better to try to communicate privately after the leaders' criticism is over and the mood dissipates.

Second, find out what the boss cares about.

Opportunities are often hidden in crises. From the boss's point of view, you generally don't care too much about trivial things or unimportant jobs in the company.

The boss will criticize the employees, essentially revealing two messages:

1. He still attaches great importance to the work that employees are currently responsible for and doesn't want everyone to make mistakes in this matter.

2. He has a problem with some behaviors or working methods of employees, which also shows the boss's preference for employees' work performance.

So let's be clear about what the boss is criticizing first. Are you criticizing our poor copywriting content, or are you worried that customers will have doubts about the company, or are your work behaviors and methods inappropriate?

This will not only help us improve our future work performance, but also prepare for the next communication and feedback with our boss.

Review and summarize and give feedback afterwards.

Every employee makes mistakes, and not once or twice. Many employees feel that once criticized by the boss, they will be "denied" by the boss and their work will become more negative.

Every boss has experienced the process of running in with different employees and has long been used to employees making mistakes. What they really care about is not that employees can't make mistakes, but the performance of employees after making mistakes.

Employees who talk back can't stay, those who admit their mistakes are ok, and it is good to take the initiative to correct them. And truly excellent employees know how to make a review and summary afterwards and give feedback to the boss.

Of course, I don't mean to go in with a critical letter, and I have no education at school. After the boss calmed down and knew what the boss cared about, we reviewed the feedback like this:

Specify what mistakes we made. If there is anything to clarify, this is the best time. For example, it can be said that this time I didn't check the background of Party A with Sister Li, so I really need to reflect. I will carefully check and communicate with the docking person next time.

This not only clarified the situation, but also showed our sincere attitude of admitting our mistakes, which made the boss feel confident and left a good impression on us. So knowing how to handle it and being criticized by the boss can also become a good thing.
