Yunnan Lincang Airport is located in the northwest of Shang Bo Town, Lincang County. It is a regional airport in the province, with flight zone grade 4C. The airport is surrounded by mountains. The barren slope of the site is high in the west and low in the east, and the terrain is extremely complicated. There are many gullies running through the site from west to east, cutting the terrain into pieces. Its geological conditions are complex, and the terrain of the site fluctuates greatly. The highest filling height is 52m. The high fill construction of this project is the first case in domestic airports, with high technical standards, great construction difficulty, high quality requirements and tight construction period. After a series of on-site technical research, remarkable results have been achieved.
In 2007, Lincang Airport was opened for six years. By the end of 2006, the passenger throughput increased from 1 10,000 in 2006 to10.2 million in 2006 and reached10.4 million in 2007. In addition, Lincang Airport also provides services for unaccompanied children. During the National Day Golden Week in 2007 (from September 28th to June 7th 10), Lincang Airport carried out 56 security flights, with a passenger throughput of 4,729 passengers and a cargo throughput of 903 1kg, which increased by 40%, 52% and 60% respectively over the same period of last year, and reached a new high in the Eleventh Golden Week.
By the end of 2008, Lincang Airport had a total of 1696 flights, an increase of 4 18 flights compared with 2007, with a year-on-year increase of 32%. Passenger throughput145,576 passengers, an increase of 259 1 1 passenger compared with 2007, which exceeded 654,380,400 passengers for the first time since the implementation of navigation, with a year-on-year increase of 2 1%. The cargo and mail throughput was 579.03 tons, an increase of 294 tons compared with 2007, with a year-on-year increase of 102%.
