Where is Beilian Village?

Beilian Village in Dongli Town is adjacent to Shantou-Fen Highway in the north. Because it is located in the north of Zhang Lin, it is also called the North Society. 1950, in memory of the martyr Zhou Liping, it was called Shengli Village together with Donghe, and was demolished in 1958, called Beilian Village. Zhou Liping, a leading cadre of Shantou Youth Anti-Japanese Association and Chaoshan 0 Organization, once lived in this village and engaged in revolutionary activities.

The whole village 1027 households, with a population of 3,699, has a land area of 1586 mu and a cultivated land area of 1233 mu. There are 90 party member in the village. There are 6 members of the "two committees" in the village. In 2009, the total economic income of the village was 62 million yuan, the collective income was 570,000 yuan, and the per capita annual income of farmers was 4,800 yuan. The villagers are mainly engaged in the cultivation of Lin Ling, guava and other fruits.

In recent years, under the correct leadership of the Party and government at higher levels, our village has fully implemented Scientific Outlook on Development, invigorated its spirit, and made gratifying achievements in building a civilized and harmonious new socialist countryside. In 2008, it was rated as Shantou Ecological Demonstration Zone.

Near Beilian Village, there are tourist attractions such as Zhanglin Ancient Port, Qin Mu's former residence, Guan Yi Ancient Village, Xitang Youcui and Xiqingtang. There are olive vegetables, pickles, Dongli pork knuckle rice, braised goose, pig head jiaozi and other specialties.
