What is the difference between enterprise internetization and enterprise informatization?

Informatization is a top-down leadership process for enterprises. After completing the first stage of technology deployment, technology has become one of the driving forces for enterprise development, and the IT director in charge of enterprise technology has also become a C-level senior. With the strengthening of IT consumerization trend, especially in recent years, two waves-social media and mobilization-swept through every link of enterprise production from bottom to top. Take social media as an example. In the early days, social media was controlled by CMO and used to shape corporate brands. But now, the social demand within enterprises is increasing. At this time, the role of CIO as the IT director of an enterprise becomes more and more important. Building social networks for enterprises, completing the integration of internal and external social media and ensuring the security of internal and external social media information have become the important tasks of CIO. On the other hand, mobility makes it more convenient for employees to move to work, and also makes the production methods of enterprises more flexible and diverse. The interaction of the above two factors shows that the enterprise has become an interconnected (the role of social media) and always connected (mobile) entity, which is like a network of employees and other production factors. Enterprise informatization has jumped to enterprise internetization. Within the enterprise, there is "cloud" overhead and "data mining" at the foot, which has become an essential weapon for enterprises to reduce costs and enhance their core competitiveness. How to get through the upper and lower floors has become an important condition for using both weapons at the same time. Enterprises need to consider how to use the Internet for internal deployment and effectively connect "cloud" and "data mining". If informatization only tells enterprises to have "cloud" and "big data", then internetization is to tell enterprises how to better integrate the two weapons. From informationization to internet, enterprises need to change their management concepts and put people first. Create a good work experience for the "people" inside the enterprise and the "people" outside. For enterprise CIOs, they are required to realize the great influence of the Internet on enterprise development, and their career orientation and historical mission are also changing. TradITionally, CIO is only a tactical executor, but in the new situation, CIO must upgrade it to the strategic level and become an IT architect, strategist and innovator of the enterprise.
