Firstly, the automatic control of product manufacturing process is realized by computer;
Secondly, using computer system to realize the systematization of enterprise internal management;
Finally, use the Internet to develop e-commerce.
Enterprise informatization generally goes through the following stages:
(1) initial stage. Computers have just been introduced into enterprises, and the application of informatization is mainly to complete some report statistics and financial management.
(2) popularization stage. Enterprises know something about computers and networks, and various softwares or systems that replace manual business begin to increase.
(3) Control stage. Senior managers of enterprises examine the application of ICT from the perspective of input-output optimization, and begin to control the purchase of software and hardware and make short-term plans. Some functional departments realize internal networking, such as financial system, personnel system, inventory system and distribution management system. However, there is an "information island" problem between software. The heads of some business departments have been able to grasp relevant information in time and make corresponding decisions quickly.
(4) integration stage. The person in charge of informatization has changed from managing computers and networks to managing information resources, forming a qualitative leap. From the first stage to the third stage, there are many "information islands". At this stage, the organization began to integrate the existing information system, so that the information of human, financial and material resources can be integrated with the decision-making of senior managers of enterprises. However, the cost of integrating various information systems and software is high, the time is long and the system is unstable.
(5) Data management stage. The enterprise not only formulated the overall information solution and implementation steps, but also chose a unified database platform, information resource management system and management information platform, which truly realized the unified planning and application of the whole organization's data, such as the implementation of ERP system. At this time, the business flow, information flow, capital flow and logistics within the enterprise are "four streams in one", and all departments (systems) integrate resources and share information.
(6) mature stage. Enterprises truly combine information and communication technology (ICT) and information system with the whole management process, fully integrate and utilize the internal and external resources of the organization, such as applying SCM (supply chain management), CRM (customer relationship management) and BI (business intelligence) to expand the extension of enterprise resources, and assist high-level decision-making with more abundant and detailed information, thus enhancing the viability, management level, competitive strength and development potential of enterprises.
