Crazy songs, empty life, who is domineering?
This poem "To Li Bai" is the earliest extant quatrain of Du Fu. Tianbao has been four years. Du Fu and Li Bai have just lived a happy life of "getting drunk in autumn and walking hand in hand". They are about to leave each other. Du Fu wrote this song "To Li Bai", and Li Bai wrote "Send Du Yu to the East Shimen in Lujun County". Look.
Qiu Lai watched him leave, but he was still floating, not ashamed of Ge Hong for cinnabar.
Piaopeng refers to the grass fluttering with the wind, which makes people feel lost. At that time, Du Li and his wife were wandering in Shandong, so this poem compared themselves to Pu Peng. Ge Hong was a Taoist and alchemist in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Li Bai was a real Taoist all his life.
Du Fu said, we two miserable children without families, like flying fleabane, are wandering around, bent on seeking immortality, but we don't even know how to practice Dan medicine. How shameful Ge Hong's ancestors are! Ge Hong is very lucky. He heard that Jiaotoe was rich in cinnabar, so he recommended himself as the order of Goulou (now Beiliu County, Guangxi), and the emperor approved it, which made his dream come true.
Ge Hong was appreciated and allowed by the emperor, but Du Li "made a guest appearance in Dongdu for two years, but she was tired of being smart", not to mention seeking immortality and seeking Tao. Living in the East Capital, which is full of human ugliness, our Taoist heart has been taught bad and defiled.
Drinking crazy songs and living an empty life, who is domineering for?
Who are you still so overbearing for drinking crazy songs all day to kill time?
Combining the first two sentences, Du Fu seems to be saying to Li Bai: Look at you, all you know is drinking and singing every day, and you look arrogant. Why? Why not practice hard like Ge Hong and seek the Tao in your heart?
Du Fu intended to persuade Li Bai, otherwise he would not care for Li Bai with "Qiu Lai" and lay down his life to accompany him, nor would he say in another poem "To Li Bai": "Hou Li Jinguiyan, stay away from things"-leave the whirlpool center of fame and fortune and seek peace in the mountains. What's more, I won't say: "There will be a tour of Liang and Song, and I will pick Yao grass in the party"-I am willing to go to the fairyland to pick Yao grass with you.
However, it is wrong to think that Du Fu is only trying to persuade Li Bai.
Li Bai's arrogance
In this poem, "domineering" is not a derogatory term. This is Du Fu's true portrayal of Li Bai. Who is Li Bai? Despise the powerful, "Oh, how can I solemnly bow and scrape to those bureaucrats and senior officials who will never be shown a sincere face?" I want to be an official, yes, but I want to be a useful official who can help the world, even if it is just a royal pet. I'm sorry: "The son of heaven doesn't get on the boat and claims to be Brewmaster."
Ambitious, but difficult to dominate, brilliant, but difficult to display, for Li Bai at that time, if you don't advance, you will fall back. This is the fundamental reason why Li Bai "drinks crazy songs for nothing and tells who to do" in Du Fu's eyes.
Therefore, although this poem does have Du Fu's intention to persuade Li Bai, it is more about Du Fu's admiration and regret for Li Bai, admiration for Li Bai's bossy talent, regret for Li Bai's incompetence, and then turn into complaints, and he can only drink crazy songs all day long.
Isn't Du Fu very talented? When I was seven years old, I sang songs about Phoenix, but I was miserable all my life. I want to drink some turbid wine, pawn my clothes, and have money for wine. I finally became an official and was demoted everywhere in a few days.
Therefore, this is Du Fu's complaint, and it is also Du Fu's complaint for Li Baifa.
And he said he was bossy.
Not just complaining. After all, for people like Li Bai, or Li Bai in Du Fu's eyes, he has enough capital to be bossy, crazy and proud, which is what Du Fu really wants to express.
"Who is the arrogant hero" is a rhetorical tone. The first three sentences, first "caring for each other", then "regret" and finally "emptiness", are gloomy and depressed, but the last sentence is rhetorical, sweeping away all gloom and pushing emotions to a climax-Li Bai's elegant demeanor, personality and demeanor are all reflected. "Memories of Li Bai in Spring" said: "Bai Yi's poems are invincible and do not think of the public."
It should be said that the last sentence "Who is domineering?" It is the essence of the whole poem. Many scholars in later generations commented on this poem, even regardless of the first three sentences, saying it as "domineering". In the early Qing Dynasty, Qian said, "Why is Li Bai domineering?"? "Because:
"Too white and charming, good vertical and horizontal. Without Ren Xia, there are several people with hands and blades, so the talents are domineering. You Yun flies all his life. "
Jin Shengtan in the so-called "six books" annotation Du said:
"Life is not smooth, life is extremely difficult, drinking crazy songs and chatting for fun. Who should resist arrogance? It's all because I'm worried about Hou Li. "
Good wine is used to relieve anxiety. It's for drinking and singing. This is to be charming and good at Ren Xia, and this is to be domineering. Who is Li Bai for? Not for anyone, only for himself, for all his talents, for his talents, for his endless romance, for his wild pride.
