Ceng Gong (10 19—1083), born in Nanfeng (now Nanfeng County, Jiangxi Province), was an essayist, historian and politician in the Northern Song Dynasty. Ceng Gong was born in a Confucian family. His grandfather Zeng Zhiyao and his father Zeng Yizhan were both famous ministers in the Northern Song Dynasty. Ceng Gong is brilliant and has an excellent memory.
