Stone Temple was very famous in the Jin Dynasty, and in the Tang Dynasty, it was named Shiduo Temple because the famous monk Zhiyan lived here and there was a stone pagoda next to the temple. Liu Yuxi, a great writer and poet in the Tang Dynasty, once worked as a "master of intelligence and essence" Stein. He said, "... Tao Kan's former residence, Stone Temple, is more than 50 miles west of Changsha. In front of Xiangjiang River, he calls his lawyer's name and Xiang Liu instead of himself. There is a fence around the temple, the mountain gate is at Jinji Bridge in the east of the temple, there is a bell and drum tower inside, there is an iron-topped hexagonal stone tower outside the main entrance, the front hall is dedicated to Maitreya Buddha, and there are four great kings and eighteen arhats behind it, with the inscription "Everyone is happy". The main hall is dedicated to Sakyamuni Buddha, pharmacist Buddha and bodhisattva, and the back hall is dedicated to Guanyin Buddha with thousands of hands. There is a courtyard behind the temple, with original pavilions, pine, cypress and tung flowers, which is impressive. There is a poem in the Old Biography of Chu Suiliang: "In the distant mountains, Tusi Mountain is filled with smoke, and bloom in February; I walked through the night with nine lights and went back to the moon to hang Haitang. " The Qing Dynasty also wrote a poem saying, "The Millennium Stone Path of the ancient temple, the Buddha Palace, the director of fishing, and the futon monk's card were quiet three times, and the tower shadow was half empty. The cause of Jin and Tang Dynasties was silent, which originated from the mantle of water and clouds. Give me back my old lady's scriptures, and even tell Duan Qin about Gong Chu. "
According to historical records, in the sixth year of Tang Yonghui (AD 655), Chu Suiliang, a court minister and great calligrapher, was demoted to Tanzhou Secretariat after admonishing Zhao Yi (Wu Zetian). Duke Chu was angry. As for Xiangtan, he traveled to Shiduodela and wrote a book: "The Tang Dynasty prospered the temple", and the temple was renamed. The original stone is a national famous plaque, which is now in the museum of Tibet. When Du Fu visited this place in the Tang Dynasty, he saw the book Gong Chu and praised it with poems: "What is the talent of Jia Fu? Gong Chu's book is unparalleled. "
Poets of all ages have left many beautiful sentences here. For example, Du Xunhe, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, wrote the poem "Following the Deng Tang Xing Temple Water Pavilion": "Rain is three autumn colors, and the ancient temple is depressed. There is no reason to climb Shui Ge, where there are things like mountains. There are new things happening during the day, and no one can be idle for a while. I will know what the old monk thinks, but I may not love Songguan. " Meng Bin of the Five Dynasties wrote a poem in Xiangjiang Pavilion: "He who lives alone in a middle-aged temple has no intention to accomplish anything. Cold mountains and dreams are fragrant, and frost leaves are full of autumn. " (Xiangjiang Pavilion is located at the side of Tangxing Temple). In the Song Dynasty, Zhang Mu wrote a poem "Xiangjiang Pavilion in Tangxing Temple": "The temple abandoned pale rocks, and the river returned to the far shore. Wind and thunder destroyed Han and ink, and the years were old. Sit and know the taste of tea, but forget it when you are idle. You will be ruthless when you turn back. "
