Guangdong University of Finance is a provincial public undergraduate college and the only financial college in South China.
Guangdong Institute of Finance was founded in 1950, formerly known as the Banking School of South China Branch of China People's Bank, and managed by the Head Office of China People's Bank; In 2000, after the reform of university management system, the central and local governments jointly managed, with Guangdong Province as the main management. In May 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was officially upgraded to an undergraduate college.
The school has 18 colleges (campuses and departments) and 46 undergraduate majors, covering six disciplines: economy, management, law, literature, science and engineering, forming an applied discipline system with economic management as the main body and finance as the core. Finance, applied economics, business administration and economic law are key disciplines in Guangdong Province.
Applied Economics, Business Administration and Law were selected as the key construction disciplines of Guangdong Higher Education Promotion Plan. It has opened the first batch of Internet finance majors in China, the first in Guangdong and the first in Guangdong, and has the most complete financial professional system among similar universities.
Finance is a national major, Guangdong major, key major, and insurance is a Guangdong major. Financial Mathematics was rated as the top ten in China by authoritative ranking, and it was the only "four-star major" in the province. As the only application-oriented undergraduate college, the school participates in the formulation of national standards for the teaching quality of undergraduate finance majors.
