What does the inscription of Liquan in Jiucheng Palace in Ou Yangxun mean? Make it popular and simple. I have no culture.

Translation:

In April of the sixth year of Zhenguan, the emperor spent the summer in Jiucheng Palace. This used to be Renshou Palace in Sui Dynasty. Build palaces to cover Shan Ye, cut off valleys to form ponds and trenches. Bridge across the water column, and build towering double pavilions in steep places, surrounded by high pavilions and cloisters. Houses crisscross and terraces crisscross. Looking up at the sky can reach a hundred miles, overlooking the steep mountains can reach a thousand miles. Brilliant as pearls and jade, gold and jade set each other off. Its brilliance can burn clouds, and its height can reach the sun and the moon.

It's extravagant to watch him build a palace to move the mountain back, because people's indulgence is really to blame. As for the hot summer when heat can melt metal, there is no muggy and steaming temperature here; The breeze blows slowly, bringing cool comfort. This is really a good place to live and a resort for recuperation. Ganquan Palace in Han Dynasty can't be surpassed.

At the age of 20, the emperor was engaged in planning and organizing activities to unify the world. By the age of 30, he has become a monarch with hundreds of millions of white surnames. China was originally unified by force, and later distant countries and nations were attached with a high degree of civilization and morality: the east crossed the green hills and the south crossed Kailuan, and those countries and nations all took treasures as imported gifts and passed them on through different languages; Translate and appear in court for trial.

From Luntai in the west to Xuanzang in the north, they are all included in the territory to set up local counties, where people are included in the household registration (under the jurisdiction of the court); The temperature of yin and yang is harmonious, the weather is good, the distance is peaceful, and everything is in its place, and the gods come to bless it. Although this is based on the merits of heaven and earth, it depends on the emperor's strategy.

(The Emperor) gave his life for the benefit of the people all over the world, and he was thinking of the people through thick and thin. He was worried about the country and the people and overworked, and his skin became a dry meat form like Emperor Yao's. He has more hands and feet than Dayu. Although he received acupuncture and slate treatment, his blood vessels were still blocked. Living in Kyoto, hot summers often make people tired and sleepy, so his ministers requested to build another one.

The Holy Son of Heaven cherishes the labor of every citizen, laments the smallest wealth unit in the compilation of civil household registration, resolutely refuses and refuses to listen to the requests of ministers, and puts forward that the old palace built in the Sui Dynasty was built in the past. It is a pity to abandon it, destroy it and waste it, leaving both people and money empty. It should follow the established facts, so why change it again?

As a result, the decoration of the old palace in the Sui Dynasty was demolished again and again, becoming simple and frugal. The original extravagant part was demolished and the damaged part was corrected, so that the red stone steps in front of the original temple were mixed with gravel and the original white walls were mixed with newly painted soil. The earth steps are connected with the original jade, and the hut is connected with the original Qiongshi.

Looking up at the magnificence of the original palace, we can learn the lesson of the collapse of the Sui Dynasty from luxury. Looking down on today's humble and frugal cultivation is enough to set an example for future generations, which embodies the spirit of "the sage (on the surface) has nothing to do, and the Great Sage does not take responsibility for himself". They have made every effort (to build a building), but the result makes me enjoy it.

However, in the past, water was extracted from valleys. In Miyagi, there is a lack of water, and trying to get water has no result. (solving this problem), human beings could not do it before. The emperor has been obsessed with this.

On April 16, the sixth year of Zhenguan, the emperor came to the palace, looked at the pavilions along the way, strolled behind the west city, and wandered under the towering pavilions. Seeing that the land here was slightly wet, he dug the ground with crutches and led the way. As a result, the spring water flowed out, and he built a stone sill under the spring water.

Introduce water into the stone ditch. The spring water is as clear as a mirror, and the water is as sweet as wine (the spring water flows through the stone canal). It falls to the right of Xiao Dan Palace to the south and flows eastward under the Double Que; The flowing spring water passes through the carved palace gate and haunts the palace where the queen mother lives; The clear waves aroused by the spring water can clean up the filth and dregs; It can make people develop a pure temperament and make people's minds delicate and thorough.

Spring water is like a mirror, which can reflect various forms. Because of its nourishment, everything can grow, just like the emperor's kindness. The grace of the son of heaven will always spread to others. It is not only the essence of astronomical phenomena, but also the treasure of the earth god. According to the literature, Li Jue said: "The emperor's sentencing and execution of prisoners are indeed appropriate, and the rewards to people are consistent with the merits of the people and the laws and norms stipulated by society, so Li Quan and his wife will appear between the courts."

"Guo Guanzi" said: "The grace of saints can reach the spirit of heaven, earth and all living beings, and then there will be spring." "Ruiying Picture" said: emperors are pure and peaceful in nature, and their diet does not need imported products contributed by officials, so there will be a ritual spring, which can make people live longer. "Dongguan Han Ji" said: "In the first year of Emperor Guangwu of Han Dynasty (56), the capital (Luoyang) had a mouthful of Liquan, which could cure a long illness and be difficult to heal."

In this way, the mysterious ritual spring appeared to help the wise king; It can not only get rid of stubborn diseases, but also prolong life. In this regard, officials and ministers are not proud and look very moved. Only my emperor is humble and doesn't think that Liquan appeared because of his "sage".

Although there is beauty, I don't think it is. I not only listened to the words of the sages of past dynasties, but also feared the appearance of auspicious signs. What's more, we know from today's precedent (there was a precedent in the Sui Dynasty that auspicious phenomena brought disaster).

This is a sign that heaven shows virtue, and it is also a manifestation of the virtue of the son of heaven. These can be carried forward by people who are as ignorant as giants! As a historian, Renchen's duty must be to "remember words" and "take notes". He should not let such a magnificent national event disappear in history, so he dared to state it truthfully and write an inscription.

The emperor unified the world by fate, endured the once-in-a-lifetime good luck, became the son of heaven, and was admired by all beings; Its merits are higher than Dashun's, and its diligence is better than Apollo's, which is really unprecedented, surpassing the ancient saints, three emperors and five emperors.

(The emperor) grasps the authority of the world and abides by etiquette, which is both moral and divine. Martial arts can calm disasters and chaos, and literature can make distant countries and nations pay tribute to them: those foreign princes and ministers who have never been recorded in writing in the past and have not surrendered to China since the beginning of the world are crowned with many crowns, and all the treasures as gifts are displayed.

Avenue cannot be expressed in words. A man of virtue, though he gets the word, is not in his place. The force of nature of the universe runs silently, and its miracle is immeasurable. (Ancient "Song of Digging the Earth" sang) "Dig a well to drink water, plow the fields to eat", (The world is at peace, live and work in peace and contentment) If you don't even thank God, how can you know the contribution of the emperor to the people!

Heaven works, people smell it tasteless and listen to it silently, but everything depends on it, so many living and inanimate things have changed their forms, and the ontology of things has also changed with the induction of Heaven. Heaven can get the blessing of human virtue, although it will respond (return) with subtle virtue. This is very clear.

There are many complicated and huge benefits (which have already appeared in history), such as Yun Family, Dragon Palace, Turtle Map, Phoenix Times, the sun appearing in five colors, SHEN WOO with three feet appearing from the sun and so on. Musicians never stop singing praises, and historians never stop recording with pens.

Today, because of the emperor's kindness, heaven is auspicious, and because of the emperor's special intelligence, it brings joy to the world, making water (ritual spring) flow from everywhere to empty places, thus nourishing the soil, making the water gurgling, the water quality transparent and clean, and the duckweed on the water surface is delicious, the water tastes like wine and the water is as clear as a mirror.

This kind of water can be used every day. (The appearance of Liquan) shows that the "Avenue" is unimpeded all the time, Qing Ji and Liquan come together, and our son is strong day and night, vigilant and cautious, does not take Qing Ji as an auspicious celebration, advocates cottage in the room, has fun, and cares about the whole world instead of being an emperor.

Everyone loves the beauty of flowers, but I take the practicality of the fruit, discard its simplicity, abandon branches and leaves and return to its original place, replace ornaments with simplicity, be careful not to fall from a height, and be careful not to overflow when the water is full. If you don't forget these things, you can always remain pure and beautiful.

Ou Yangxun, the Prince of Vietnam and the Duke of Bohai, was ordered to write.

Extended data

There are three styles of stippling in Jiuchenggong Liquan inscription: fine, hard, beautiful and moist. These three styles are not completely separated, but they are displayed simultaneously in one stroke or one word.

Li Quanming of Jiuchenggong belongs to thin and hard style. Its stippling is thicker than the thin gold body, thinner than the swallow body, and moderately fat and thin. Calligraphy pays attention to brushwork and is realized through "bone". Too fat is easy to have no bones, too thin bones are easy to "break", and moderate symmetry between fat and bones is more suitable for expressing pen power.

If thinness refers to the masculine beauty of Li Quanming in Jiucheng Palace, then beauty is to describe its feminine beauty. The beauty of Jiuchenggong's Ming of Liquan is mainly reflected in the roundness of the pen and the slender strokes. For example, the second and fifth points of the word "Gong" are not only hard, but also Fiona Fang has both characteristics, giving people a gentle and implicit feeling.

The other three points of the word "Gong" are triangular, angular and heroic. But because of the neutralization of the second and fifth strokes, the whole word will not be very fierce and rough. Slender strokes, especially long strokes and long strokes, tend to produce gorgeous colors, which can even be reflected in the four vigorous and rough Longmen products.

The word "summer heat" in Jiuchenggong Liquan inscription is long, and it has a certain radian when written in Shimada Hanzo. Whether it is Fiona Fang or the mountain city, it gives people a kind of euphemistic beauty, combining rigidity with softness. Although the stippling in Jiuchenggong Liquan Ming is both rigid and flexible, it has more rigid components.

It is the slightly masculine beauty in the style of writing that Liu Xizai once discussed. Liu Xizai said that "those who are good at learning from Europe are strong but not fierce", which means that Ou Kai belongs to the beauty of neutralization; He also said that "Europe is easy for eagles to know", which means that Ou Kai tends to be masculine.

Jiucheng Palace is warm, warm, heavy and moist. Warm and thick is the artistic effect caused by round pen or hidden front, and moist refers to ink painting. Thick ink was basically used in Jin and Tang dynasties, which was the most practical because of the strong contrast between black and white. If the ink is too thick, the pen will be dull, and the place where the pen is pressed is easy to swell. Therefore, add the right amount of water to create a thick and moist effect-neither bloated nor sloppy.

Now see the "Jiuchenggong Liquan Ming" are generally rubbings, white characters on a black background, in fact, you can't see the shade of ink. However, according to the situation of using ink at that time and the imagination of the appreciator, the richness of stippling is easy to feel.
