This major trains professionals who meet the needs of socialist modernization and the development of information industry, systematically master the basic theory and professional knowledge of information display and photoelectric technology, develop morally, intellectually and physically in an all-round way, have innovative consciousness and practical ability, and have been trained in scientific experiments and scientific thinking. Besides having good scientific quality, you must also master the basic theories and abilities necessary for information materials, information display, thin film processing, photoelectric testing, device performance analysis, circuit analysis and drive circuit design. Senior engineering and technical personnel who can engage in scientific research, technology development, process and equipment design, production and management in flat panel and projection display technology fields such as electroluminescent display, field emission display, liquid crystal display and laser display, and reserve talents who can adapt to the needs of national economic development in the field of information science for further study.

The main courses of this major include advanced display technology courses such as introduction to information materials, luminescence foundation, organic electronics foundation, solid state physics, photoelectric devices and technology, flat panel display technology, display device manufacturing technology, communication principle and computer practical network technology. There are two majors in information display and organic optoelectronics, and the related courses include liquid crystal materials and display technology, electroluminescent materials and devices, organic solar cells, organic optoelectronic information storage and so on. This major combines foundation and frontier, theory and practice, takes polymer materials and engineering as the main line, and combines chemistry, electronics, physics and other disciplines to provide a platform for building high-quality compound talents in short supply in society.

Students majoring in optical engineering, materials science and engineering, electronic science and technology continue their studies. After graduation, students majoring in this major can engage in process equipment design, production technology development, market development and management in traditional fields such as synthesis, modification, processing and molding of polymer materials, or engage in research and development of information materials, photoelectric materials and functional materials in high-tech fields such as information display, or engage in teaching and scientific research in colleges and universities.
