Xue Mo, formerly known as Chen Kaihong, 1963+00 was born in Liangzhou, Gansu Province in June. He is a yogi and scholar, a member of Chinese Writers Association and a professional writer. He studied in the First Advanced Seminar for Young and Middle-aged Writers and the First Postgraduate Class for Shanghai Writers of Lu Xun College of Literature, and won the Third Feng Mu Literature Award and the Erdos Award for China Writers. He was awarded the title of "Literary Artist in Gansu Province with both ability and political integrity", "Top-notch Innovative Talents in Gansu Province" and "Excellent Expert in Gansu Province", and was hired as an honorary professor by Hexi College and other universities. Research on Snow Desert Novels has been listed as a research topic for doctoral and master students in Lanzhou University, Shanghai Normal University and Minzu University of China.
