What is after-school service?

After-school service is to arrange students to do homework, read independently, engage in sports, art and popular science activities, as well as entertain games, expand training, carry out community and interest group activities, and watch movies suitable for children.

On February 24th, 20 17, based on the reality that children leave school early and parents leave work late, the General Office of the Ministry of Education put forward "Guiding Opinions on Doing a Good Job in After-school Service for Primary and Secondary School Students".

Exploration of after-school service mode

The Opinions pointed out that all units involved in after-school services participate in collective activities, which is an extension of compulsory education. Therefore, how to make all participants participate in after-school services conveniently and mutually beneficial is a process that needs constant exploration.

On July 3, 2002/KLOC-0, the Ministry of Education held a news briefing to introduce that after-school services will achieve full coverage of compulsory education schools after school starts this fall, and strive to achieve full coverage of students with difficulties. After-school service is implemented in "5+2" mode, that is, the school carries out after-school service five days a week, at least two hours a day, and the end time is connected with the local normal off-duty time.
