1. If you come to work in Shanghai directly after returning to China and meet one of the following conditions:

(1) has a bachelor's degree, returned to China within 1 year and has not worked or settled in other provinces and cities in China.

(2) He has a master's degree, returned to China within 2 years, and has not worked in other provinces and cities in China.

(3) Have a doctorate, return to China within 3 years and do not work and settle in other provinces and cities in China.

2. The term of the labor (employment) contract signed by the employer and the returned overseas students is more than one year (inclusive), and the remaining contract term (from the date of application to the contract term) must be more than six months (inclusive). The above contract term does not include the probation period.

3. The age of the applicant must be more than five years away from the statutory retirement age. The age of high-level overseas students who are recognized by the state or have special expertise and are in urgent need in this city may be appropriately relaxed, but the employer must first report to the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security (Shanghai Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs) and accept it after examination and approval.

2. What are the conditions for international students to settle in Shanghai and their families to move with them?

Spouses of returned overseas students who meet the conditions for settlement (the spouse's age must be more than five years away from the statutory retirement age) and their children under the age of 16 or studying in ordinary high schools can apply for settlement at the same time. 6. The process of foreign students settling in Shanghai

The process for international students to settle in Shanghai is as follows:

(1) The employer shall submit the application materials to the acceptance department (Shanghai Overseas Talent Service Center) as required.

(2) Overseas high-level students who have special expertise or are in urgent need of this Municipality shall apply directly to the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security (Shanghai Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs) and be admitted after examination and approval.

(3) The accepting department conducts a preliminary examination of the application materials submitted by the employing unit. If the materials are complete and meet the statutory requirements, it shall be accepted within 5 working days and a written notice of acceptance shall be issued.

(5) The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security (Shanghai Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs) shall complete the examination of the preliminary examination materials within 10 working days.

(6) The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security (Shanghai Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs) will feed back the audit opinions to the acceptance department, and summarize the approved settlement list to the Population Management Office of Shanghai Public Security Bureau (once every 10 working day), which will forward the list to the public security departments of all districts and counties in this city.
