The National Bureau of Statistics was established in August, 1952. In order to meet the needs of economic construction, the seventeenth plenary session of the Central People's Government decided to set up.
The National Bureau of Statistics is an institution directly under the State Council, in charge of national statistics and national economic accounting, drafting statistical laws and regulations, statistical reform and modernization plans and national statistical investigation plans, organizing, leading, supervising and inspecting the statistical and national economic accounting work of various regions and departments, and supervising and inspecting the implementation of statistical laws and regulations.
Institutional responsibility:
1. Three, study and put forward the major national conditions and national strength census plan, and organize the implementation after approval; Unified organization of social and economic surveys in various regions and departments, and collection and collation of basic national statistical data; Statistical analysis, prediction and supervision of national economy, scientific and technological progress and social development, and provision of statistical information and opinions to the Central Committee, the State Council and relevant departments.
