Three-dimensional design of crusher
I am a graduate student in the CAD Center of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. My research interests are CAD, virtual design and informatization. Participated in the research and development of computer-aided design of crusher, virtual assembly and motion simulation of crusher, and the development of agile design platform of crushing equipment. This paper expounds the idea of using SolidWorks software to carry out computer-aided three-dimensional design of crusher, and emphatically introduces the key technologies and skills such as three-dimensional solid modeling and assembly, parametric design, strength and stiffness check, interference and collision check, and motion simulation under SolidWorks software environment.
The three-dimensional solid model and operation simulation of the crusher established by SolidWorks three-dimensional design software can clearly and intuitively show the structure of each part of the crusher, every assembly relationship and all kinds of motion trajectories, which not only gives designers a more perceptual understanding visually, but also can be used for subsequent work such as CAM, CAE, CAPP and PDM. Moreover, because of the parametric function of SolidWorks 3D design software, it can provide convenience for the improvement and modification of products in the future. It can be said that computer-aided three-dimensional design improves the design efficiency and quality of crusher.

2. Three-dimensional design process of crusher
SolidWorks is a feature-based parametric 3D solid modeling system. Before starting the design, first consider the overall structure, and then make a good design route, which can effectively play the function of the system, shorten the design cycle and improve the design efficiency.
There are two ways to design with SolidWorks software: one is top-down design, which is more traditional, that is, design the parts first, then insert the assembly, and match the parts according to the design requirements. Its advantage is that each part is designed independently, and the relationship and reconstruction behavior between each part are relatively simple. Another method is top-down design. Design begins with assembly, and parts are designed in the assembly environment. The geometry of one part is used to help define another part. When the shape and size of a part change, the related parts will also change. This method is only suitable for equipment design with simple structure, and it is impossible to realize in equipment design composed of complex parts. Bottom-up design is beneficial for different designers to design, modify and communicate with each other, thus improving design efficiency.
Therefore, the three-dimensional design of the crusher adopts the bottom-up design method, and its process is shown in Figure 1.
