How to cancel a car-free account

Car-free cancellation requires the owner to submit materials to the staff for cancellation.

The owner needs to prepare the following materials before canceling the account: my identity certificate, motor vehicle ownership certificate and its copy, driving license, license plate, vehicle inspection certificate (not required in some areas), identity certificate of entrusted agent, etc.

After preparing the materials, the owner needs to submit an application at the window of the local vehicle management office. When submitting, you need to fill in the Application Form for Cancellation of Motor Vehicles, fill in the basic information of the owner on the application form and sign it, and then submit the vehicle ownership certificate, driving license, number plate and other related materials to the window staff.

The staff will check the motor vehicle information and conduct an audit. If they pass the audit, they will take back the driving license, number plate and other materials and cancel the vehicle registration information. After cancellation, the owner needs to pay corresponding fees, such as traffic police fines, parking fees, late fees and so on.

The significance of car-free account cancellation:

Car-free cancellation means that the owner sells the vehicle or the vehicle is stolen, lost or damaged and cannot be scrapped, and chooses to cancel the vehicle file and license plate of the vehicle. In this way, unnecessary traffic fines can be avoided, and at the same time, it is convenient for car owners to handle insurance and other matters without being affected accordingly.

The specific process of car-free account cancellation may vary from region to region. Generally, apply directly to the vehicle management office to which the motor vehicle belongs, and submit the application form for cancellation of motor vehicle and relevant supporting documents to the window and pay the corresponding fees. Vehicles engaged in car-free cancellation business in the vehicle management office to which the motor vehicle belongs must have no traffic violations before cancellation. Therefore, before canceling the car, the owner should verify whether the car has a traffic violation record.
