Yang Chao, 1979, was born in Caijiagang Town, Dingcheng District, and lost his left leg in a childhood car accident. In 2005, he received a phone call from the staff of Dingcheng Disabled Persons' Federation, preparing to participate in the shooting events of the Provincial Paralympic Games.
On September/KOOC-0/0, 20/KOOC-0/6, Beijing time, Yang Chao won the gold medal in the men's/KOOC-0/0 meter air pistol event of the Rio Paralympic Games. This is the first gold medal for Hunan athletes at the Rio Paralympic Games, and it is also the first time for Changde athletes to win the Paralympic Games (Olympic Games) gold medal.
