Various departments of the college have also made many achievements in network construction. The website of the National Foreign Language Non-lingua franca Undergraduate Training Base built by the Oriental Language Department takes service teaching as the most important function of the website, and has columns such as audio-visual world, news of the target country, database and teaching database (FTP), and has realized Thai, Korean, Hindi, Filipino, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Burmese and Mongolian. In the 2006-2007 academic year, Peking University Foreign Studies University cooperated with Guangxi University for Nationalities to set up an online course "Introduction to Oriental Literature Masterpieces", which was taught by teachers selected by Peking University Foreign Studies University and selected by six undergraduates majoring in Vietnamese, Thai, Lao, Cambodian, Burmese and Indonesian in Guangxi University for Nationalities, realizing distance teaching. In order to make full use of computer, multimedia, network and other modern technologies to improve teaching methods and means, several French teachers participated in the teaching and research project of "the development of computer-aided teaching software CAI for college French" in Peking University, and achieved initial results. The website of French Department of Peking University International Studies University is loaded with simple French software for students to use. The "Peking University College English Online Teaching Platform" developed by the College English Teaching and Research Section focuses on face-to-face teaching by teachers, promotes corresponding multimedia and online teaching, and creates a good English learning environment for students.
The college is constantly building various online teaching resources. It has undertaken the national social science key project "Chronicle Database of Contemporary Foreign Literature (online version \ CD-ROM version)", invested a lot of technical resources, and is building a comprehensive foreign literature research and teaching database to provide relevant information services to the whole society.
Many courses in universities are taught by multimedia courseware. Teachers who have been teaching since 2004 have provided at least one course using multimedia courseware. Multimedia courseware teaching will be gradually popularized in the future.
The satellite TV receiving system of our college can receive 25 sets of TV programs in 16 languages, which provides timely information for teachers and students of Peking University Foreign Studies College and plays a positive role in improving teaching quality. The multimedia classrooms and all offices of the college have installed TV viewing software, which can watch and download all satellite TV programs at any time.
The most advanced simultaneous interpretation teaching system has been adopted in the recently built simultaneous interpretation classroom in our college, which provides a strong technical guarantee for simultaneous interpretation teaching in various languages and master's degree in translation. The classroom will also be integrated with the electronic resource library to provide better and wider services for teaching and scientific research.
