Wang Jilie, born in Changzhou County, Jiangsu Province (now Suzhou City),1September 7, 873. Born in Suzhou in the late Qing Dynasty, a scholar-bureaucrat family is the descendant of Wang Hao, a famous politician and writer in Ming Dynasty. His father, Wang, was a third-class official in the imperial court and wrote many books on literature and history. He was Cai Yuanpei's tutor when he took the exam. Wang Jilie's mother Xie Changda is a famous female educator in modern times. She is determined to revitalize China and establish Zhenhua Girls' School. In the family, she is strict with her children, teaching well and inspiring well. In this family, there are not only Wang Jilie's brothers and sisters, such as Wang Jitong (No, Wang Jidian, Wang, Wang and other scientific and technological experts and educators, but also Wang Shoujing, Wang Shouwu, Wang Shoujue, He, what a group of China science and technology giants have emerged. Wang Shouwu and many people mentioned Xie Changda's good influence when they recalled their growth. Among them, there are eight brothers and sisters, who are trained by the primary education of Zhenhua Girls' School (the primary school enrolls boys). Wang Jilie was lifted in 1894 and went to visit Lanxi, Zhejiang. Two years later, I went to Shanghai Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau and translated the book Electro-Optical Communication with John Flair. Through self-study, he learned modern physics from the west, and rewrote the textbook translated by Fujita Toyohachi and named it Physics. The first, middle and second volumes of this book were published by Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau in 1900 and 1903 respectively.
1900, Wang Jilie went to Hanyang Manufacturing Bureau, and was valued and funded by Zhang Zhidong, a famous westernization official and educator. He was admitted to the Jinshi in Beijing, and on the recommendation of Zhang Zhidong, he entered the Ministry as a professional doctor, and worked as a physics and chemistry teacher in Shi Jing Translation School for one year. Wang Jilie supported constitutional monarchy in the late Qing Dynasty. He was one of the elected members of the Senior Advisory Council when it was established. During his time in the department, he presided over the compilation of physical vocabulary, and at the same time served as the editor-in-chief of science in the Commercial Press, translated and compiled a variety of physical chemistry textbooks, and founded Wucheng School in Beijing.
After the Revolution of 1911, he opposed Yuan Shikai and refused to be an official. He founded Li Le Agricultural Reclamation Company and Huachang Match Company in Tianjin. During the period of1918-1920, Ye Gongchuo, the chief traffic officer of Beiyang government, was hired by the Ministry of Communications to organize children's schools. This kind of school is named "Rotary Club". Rotary primary schools are located in Beijing, Tianjin and Tang, and there is only one Rotary middle school in Tianjin. When Wang Jilie was in Tianjin, he established the amateur Kunqu Opera Society "Jingjing Society" to admire Shen Jing (Shen was a dramatist in Ming Dynasty). Wang Jilie and Liu Fucheng co-authored Comprehensive Music Score and other works. In the 1920s and 1930s, Wang Jilie, who experienced many political twists and turns, left the field of natural science and devoted himself to the study of Kunqu Opera.
After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Chen Shutong (a classmate of Wang Jilie's) invited Wang Jilie to Beijing to participate in the preparation of the Museum of Literature and History.
