From June of 1936 to June of 10, the author made a field trip to the revolutionary base areas in northwest China, and completed the writing of "Red Star Shines on China" according to the first-hand materials obtained during the trip. At that time, smallpox, cholera, typhoid fever, typhus and plague were prevalent in northwest China, so Si Nuo injected vaccines to prevent these infectious diseases in his hips and legs before leaving.
