Layout design of Taiyuan South Railway Station

The whole station building of Taiyuan South Railway Station includes an elevated waiting floor, a platform floor and an underground exit floor. The elevated waiting floor includes the main passage of the waiting hall, as well as the passenger waiting hall and service area at both ends. The passenger waiting hall is divided into soft seats and ordinary waiting areas, group waiting areas, maternal and child waiting areas and disabled waiting areas. The service area has commercial service area, catering service area and consulting service area, with a construction area of 28,403 square meters. The platform on the second floor of Taiyuan South Railway Station has a clear width of 20 meters. A column-free platform canopy is arranged on the platform, and a hall and a platform waiting room are arranged beside the platform.

There are 16 exits on both sides of the whole waiting hall leading to the platform, with 8 exits on each side. Only stairs and escalators are installed at the eight exits on the left, and straight ladders, escalators and stairs are installed at the eight exits on the right. Passengers have various options to get off the platform. From the west station building to the east station building, there is an underground connecting passage, and passengers can also go directly to the platform through this passage.

The newly-built Taiyuan South Railway Station adopts the international advanced design concept, and the entrance and exit passages of the whole station building are three-dimensionally distributed, including: elevated waiting floor, platform floor and underground exit floor. The elevated waiting floor includes the main passage of the waiting hall, as well as the passenger waiting hall and service area at both ends. Passenger waiting rooms are divided into soft seats and ordinary waiting areas, as well as groups, mothers and children, and disabled waiting areas. The service area has commercial service area, catering service area and consulting service area. This floor covers an area of 28,403 square meters, which is the largest of the three-tier platforms. The platform floor is 20 meters wide, and there is an entrance hall and a platform waiting room next to the platform. The underground exit floor is equipped with east and west exit halls and related supporting facilities.

In the newly-built Taiyuan South Railway Station, sound absorption equipment will be installed on both sides of the platform and track to reduce the noise of the train and increase the comfort of passengers waiting for the bus. At the same time, the walls of the exit passage and exit hall will be treated with sound absorption and specially treated rubber floors will be used. In addition, the unique brick stone curtain wall system on the external wall of the station building consists of high-grade low-emissivity glass, controllable glass windows and two layers of brick panels. The system can effectively reduce the influence of solar radiation and reduce the air conditioning load in summer. In addition, in order to increase the efficiency of the station, the station will also adopt the intelligent design of the building, and it is planned to set up a passenger guidance and prompt system, a passenger TV monitoring system, an alarm and linkage control system, waiting and office clock facilities and a large-screen comprehensive information display system in the station building.

The newly-built Taiyuan South Railway Station will also set up two station squares, of which the West Square is the main passenger gathering square, facing Jinyang Street, the main road of the city. Facing Beiying North Road, East Square is a traffic auxiliary square. In order to facilitate the communication between passengers and all kinds of motor vehicles, a special passage will be set up between the East Square and the West Square to connect them, thus forming a traffic loop around the station building and the East Square and the West Square. Bus area, rental area and shuttle bus area are all located in the underground area of West Square, so passengers can leave easily after leaving the station.
