Marriage and family counselors are professionals recognized by relevant state departments. They have received systematic professional training and assessment, and hold corresponding qualification certificates. In China, the certification and management of marriage and family counselors are the responsibility of the National Registration and Management Center for Marriage and Family Counselors. The center is responsible for formulating the training standards, assessment standards and professional ethics of marriage and family counselors, and issuing registration certificates to qualified counselors. In addition, the state has set up relevant consulting institutions and associations to supervise and manage marriage and family counselors.
