Foshan town
Foshan, formerly known as Ji Hua Township, has a long history and profound cultural heritage. The history of Foshan originated from Shi Lan Street in Chancheng District. About 4500-5500 years ago, the ancestors of Baiyue came here along the Xijiang River and Beijiang River to thrive, and started the primitive civilization by fishing and making pottery.
In the second year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty (AD 628), because three Buddha statues were excavated on Tapogang in the city, they thought this place was a place of Buddhism, so they set up a stone table and changed Ji Hua Township to "Foshan". Foshan is the birthplace of Cantonese opera Southern Red Bean, and also has the reputation of "the hometown of Lingnan medicine" and "the hometown of lion art". It was called four famous towns in China in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
2. Jingdezhen
Jingdezhen is one of the first historical and cultural cities in China, one of the 35 national ace tourist attractions, an excellent tourist city in China and one of the 50 most worthwhile places in China. By the end of 20 12, Jingdezhen had six national 4A scenic spots, including Ancient Kiln Folk Expo Area, Gaoling Yaoli Scenic Area, Fuliang Ancient Cliff, Hongyan Wonderland Scenic Area, Deyu Ecological Park and China Porcelain Capital Park. Zhu Jin Shanzhai, Sculpture Porcelain Factory Ming and Qing Garden and Jiangxi Guaishi Forest are three national 3A-level scenic spots. ?
Hutian Ancient Kiln Site, Hutian Kiln was the largest porcelain-making kiln in China during the Five Dynasties, Song and Yuan Dynasties, with the longest continuous firing time and the most exquisite porcelain. It belongs to the second batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
3. Hankou Town
The development of Hankou began after the diversion of Hanshui River in Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty, and it was mainly developed into docks and commercial towns by using the water transport of the Yangtze River and Hanshui River. In ancient times, it was known as the thoroughfare of nine provinces. By the beginning of the 20th century, Hankou had become a large-scale city, known as "Oriental Chicago".
Its geographical advantages gradually attracted many neighboring landlords, farmers, craftsmen and businessmen from all over the country to gather here, so that the famous town of Hankou with prosperous business began to merge with Wuhan from 1949.
4. Zhuxian Town
Zhuxian Town is a national cultural eco-tourism demonstration area. It is the only land-water transfer terminal in Kaifeng in Ming Dynasty. There are places of interest such as Yuefei Temple in Zhuxian Town, one of the three largest Yue temples in China, Woodblock New Year Pictures in Zhuxian Town, the originator of China Woodblock New Year Pictures, Zhuxian Town Mosque, the largest mosque in East Asia, and the ruins of Kaifeng Ancient City.

Historical changes of Foshan

During the Song, Yuan and Feng Dynasties, the Baojia system was implemented, and the township was divided into the capital fort, and the Foshan fort was the first in Ji Hua township. During the Tang and Song Dynasties, the handicraft industry, commerce and culture in Foshan were very prosperous.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it developed into an important town in Lingnan, with many businessmen and developed industry and commerce. In the first year of the Republic of China (19 12), Foshan was officially changed into a town, and Nanhai county office was also moved from Guangzhou to Foshan.
1925, the National Government separated Foshan from Nanhai County and established Foshan City.
On June 1983, 1, the city merged with the city, and the Guangdong Central Administrative Office merged with the Foshan Municipal Government to become a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong. This is the historical beginning of Foshan today. Shunde County, Nanhai County, Gaoming County, Sanshui County and Zhongshan County officially belong to Foshan City. As the four little dragons in Guangdong, and far away from Foshan, Houzhongshan City was set as a prefecture-level city, with expanded power and officially separated from Foshan's jurisdiction.
1992- 1994, Shunde, Nanhai, Sanshui and Gaoming successively set up cities (county-level) under the management of Foshan.
In May 2009, Foshan administered five municipal districts, 1 1 street and 20 towns.
