1. Solutions to Three Common Faults of Canon Printer

When printing 1., the monitor encountered a DOT400X port error. The main reason for this is that there is something wrong with the USB port, either it is not correctly recognized or the length of the USB cable does not meet the specifications.

Solution: Replace USB cable. Another possibility is that the printer driver is not installed correctly.

Even if installed correctly, this problem can occur if the driver does not match the port. Therefore, when troubleshooting, we should combine the three to analyze the reasons.

2. After the USB interface of the printer is connected to another USB interface of the computer, the computer displays "Automatic Installation" but does not display the icon, and there is no response when trying to print with the original driver of the computer. When such a problem occurs, we have to seriously doubt whether only one USB port is used and the other USB port is not installed successfully. At this point, we enter the original driver, find "Properties", then click this port, uncheck the "offline status" displayed by the printer, and then restart the printer to print, so there should be no related failures.

3. After running Canon's CD-ROM installer, if an error window appears at the end of the copied file, or when the installation is completed through "Add Printer", the interface displays "Specified file not found" and other errors.

This problem often occurs because the program itself is in an extremely chaotic state in the system after repeated installation. 1, failure phenomenon

After the Canon printer is turned on, the carriage moves to the left for a certain distance and then stops. The ink suction mechanism on the right side of the printer rotates several times and then stops. The [Feed] indicator on the operation panel flashes and the printer does not print.

2, fault inspection

Under normal circumstances, after the Canon printer is turned on, the nozzle cap of the ink suction mechanism on the right side of the printer descends away from the ink jet head, then the carriage starts to move to the left, and after moving to the left end, it quickly returns to the right ink suction mechanism (ink jet head cleaning unit), and the ink suction mechanism starts cleaning procedures including wiping the nozzle and sucking ink. After cleaning, the nozzle cover of the ink absorption mechanism moves upward to cover the inkjet head. Wait for the next print command to be executed. This fault is that the printer moves to the left as soon as it is turned on, and the ink absorption mechanism keeps rotating, which shows that the nozzle cover of the ink absorption mechanism did not cover the inkjet head properly before it was turned on.

3. Fault analysis

According to this analysis, it may be that the transmission mechanism in the ink absorption mechanism has failed, which leads to the failure of normal reset; The position detection sensor in the ink suction mechanism fails, that is, the ink suction mechanism cannot detect the ink jet head and report an error message.

4, fault handling methods

First, unplug the power plug, pry the buckles (two on the left and two on the right) out of the four notches on the back of the printer with a flat-blade screwdriver, and then remove the back cover. Unplug the plug of the operation switch on the lower cover from the main control circuit board, pry the buckles on both sides from under the printer cover with a flat-head screwdriver, and lift the lower cover from the front.

Unscrew 5 screws under the printer frame with special tools, and remove the black plastic backplane. Move the carriage to the middle, unscrew one fixing screw of the ink absorption mechanism from the front of the printer frame and two screws behind the frame, unplug the position sensor plug of the ink absorption mechanism from the main control circuit board, and then remove the whole ink absorption mechanism along the frame direction.

Check the sensor of the ink absorption mechanism with the RXl gear of the multimeter (the sensor is normally open reed type), that is, insert the stylus on the sensor plug, turn the transmission gear of the ink absorption mechanism by hand, and observe whether the pointer on the multimeter responds when the nozzle cover rises to the highest point to determine whether the sensor is invalid. In this case, the sensor is judged to be invalid after inspection, and the fault is eliminated after replacement.
